O’Vert by Gallagher Fragrances is an aromatic citrus fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2021, this olfactory composition was created by perfumer Daniel Gallagher. In its opening, the top notes unfold a vibrant accord of lemon, sour lime, lime, green lemon, bergamot, green mandarin, and orange. The heart of the fragrance reveals a resinous and spicy depth thanks to elemi resin and cardamom. Finally, the base notes settle on a marine and animalised foundation, composed of sea salt, Haitian vetiver, ambergris, ambrette musk, and musk.

I tried it as a decant: at first it smells like Mancera’s Lemon Line, and once it dries down, it reminds me of Tommy Bahama’s St. Barts. It smells nice, but at 2600 pesos, I don’t think I’d buy the full bottle.
O Vert de Gallagher reminds me enormously of Cedro di Diamante by Perris Montecarlo; the first half-hour is practically identical. Effervescent citrus, a touch of sweet ripe fruit, something green and musky. In the Perris it’s apple, lime and lemon, linear, but Gallagher evolves with orange and tangerine, making it juicier, greener and with a hint of bitterness. There’s a slight note of salt and resin in the base, yet it remains fresh, clean and very pleasing for hot weather. Unisex, suitable for spring and summer, good longevity and a scent not particularly novel to me, but excellent. At times it recalls a sweet lemon, nothing artificial. I’ll stick with the Perris for its sweetness and because I feel owning both would be redundant. Rating: 9/10.
