  Smells like opening a jar of hot spices, almost like opening a jar of cayenne peppers, but yes, zero projection; as soon as you spray it, it stays right on the skin, or at least that’s what happens on my skin. It was the one I most wanted to try based on the notes… it’s been a great bluff… it doesn’t come close to Spicebomb, even unintentionally, and only a little bit to BTFP.

  Smells like burnt caramel with a hint of incense; reminds me of Matière Première’s Escens Suave but is inferior in every way. Cheers. Edit: It could also remind you of Carner’s Palo Santo.

  It’s a ‘meh’ version of By the Fireplace. Drier, less creamy, less defined, fewer details… it loses handily against the fragrance it copies. BTF transports you and makes you travel in your mind, whereas this one gets stuck. At 20-25 euros, it’s okay, but at the current price, I don’t think it’s worth it; better to go for the Margiela one, or if not, the Perfume Parlour clone which is spectacular and practically identical.

  Quite good for the price. Reminds me quite a bit of Maison Martin Margiela’s By the Fireplace, but a bit weaker. I’d recommend it to try out for the price.

  Sweet woody and slightly spicy… it doesn’t last more than four hours, but you can forgive it because you simply can’t stop smelling your hand after applying it… plus, it’s nearly 60% off at Druni perfumeries… and yes… it smells very similar to By the Fireplace in the opening, but then it takes a different path.

  I picked this up for the spicy note; as an F1 fan, I thought it looked promising given the price. Upon spraying, I was hit with a memory of strawberry smoke from the club where I used to work as a DJ. That spicy, smoky opening, like a ‘burnt rubber’ note, transported me back to my 19s in the cockpit, with the track smoke, perfumes, alcohol, and night sweat… pure night life. It’s certainly not a bad scent; quite the opposite. A perfume should tell a story, and this one does from the very first second. It’s a fantastic spicy, sweet fragrance with a smoky edge, full of character and personality that you enjoy from start to finish. Performance: lasts around five hours with moderate projection, which is decent. It’s not eternal, but five hours of this are very pleasant. Blind buy? For the price, yes. But as always: better to test it on skin to see if it connects. A soulful perfume with memories and character, ideal for lovers of smoky spices.
