Paula's Ibiza by Loewe is an aquatic floral fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2020, this composition was created by perfumer Núria Cruelles Borrull. The top notes unfold with coconut, galbanum and mandarin; the heart reveals pieces of driftwood, frangipani and narcissus; while the base notes complete the structure with ambergris, patchouli and bourbon vanilla.

  • I waited long for this perfume and pfff, great disappointment. The notes smell very synthetic, and I couldn’t handle them. The bottle is beautiful.

  • As soon as I put it on, I thought of a beach shore full of decomposing algae. Truly, it caused me rejection but at the same time transported me to summer. A very strange thing. Once it dried, I couldn’t stop smelling it. Sea salt, damp moss, freshly cut grass… wet wood. It’s a very strange fragrance and it’s clear it’s not for everyone. You either love it or hate it. I’m in the first group. It breaks the mould, and that’s something to be grateful for in such a landscape of repetitive scents. By the way, I don’t understand why it’s an EDT because it lasts quite a while.

  • sanctus_iacobus

Smell of wet earth, cut grass. Not ugly, but I don’t think a human being should walk around smelling like this.

  • karen_ruuby

The fragrance that made me doubt the most! Initially, the hype encouraged me to try it, and I hated it. Then I gave it another chance and fell in love. Now it seems hypnotic to me. I agree with many reviews: you either love it or hate it; it’s not for everyone. Definitely not for blind buying, and I highly recommend trying it several times before purchasing. Ideal for summer or the beach, the scent transports me directly to the sea, yet without being predictable; I love that spicy touch; it’s a very unique fragrance. Unlike other reviews, it has very little longevity for me, which disappointed me a bit as I need to reapply during the day, but fine; for an Eau de Toilette, it’s tolerable.

  • tandesireerome

I LOVE IT; I feel super unique in its kind; it transports me to summer automatically. I feel that as time passes since application, the aroma changes; the first thing I perceived was coconut, and then I started noticing a green scent. I took it on a trip to the beach and the compliments didn’t keep coming. What needs to be clarified is that it’s not a scent for every nose…

  • Niche perfume from a designer brand. That’s the summary. Not suitable for blind buying; it doesn’t go unnoticed. Either people stop you and ask what you’re wearing, or some people don’t even want you to get close. Be very careful with sprays as it’s very heavy and fills the space. An enveloping aroma that cannot be described; it’s hard to identify each note, a bit like the bottle’s style, a purplish mix of colours, but together they give a spectacular result in terms of bottle and presentation; that is the scent. Totally unisex; perhaps that’s why it’s one of the few perfumes my wife “steals” from me; I smell it on the lift every now and again. Super versatile for any setting and temperature; in summer, two or three sprays are more than enough. Highly recommended, but test first.

  • An EDT scent housed in a designer EDP or niche-style bottle, bought by those who enjoy original smells (and, to put it simply, the wonderfully diverse world of perfumery). It’s quite difficult to review due to the evocations this green-blue fragrance provokes, as it combines both lines: it’s dark and heavy, taking you to the edge of an algae-covered cliff or deep into a forest that swallows you. A relative hit the nail on the head, saying it reminded him of “algae turf.” It makes no prisoners; you either love it or hate it, but if you come to appreciate it, you’ll enjoy it; indeed, it’s made for that, to live an experience. Many commercial or niche perfumes would kill to be this original, evocative, and long-lasting as this “cologne.” The catch: should you buy blind? I say no; it’s a high-risk purchase.

It’s a very particular scent. I’ve tried it countless times. I like it, but I’m not sure if I’d want to wear it all the time. It smells good, green with a wet earth aroma. It’s hard to explain because it doesn’t resemble any other fragrance. The longevity and projection are very good. I own Eclectic and adore it (plus, it’s easier to wear). I might buy it one day, but I already plan to purchase other scents from the collection first.

  • Carla Ventura

I created a profile just to leave a review, and honestly, I have no regrets. Even though many say you shouldn’t buy blind, I had never tried anything from the Loewe collection before, and I was so lucky. It’s an exquisite scent, super fresh and green, nothing sweet, which is exactly what I love most. I received samples of Eclectic and Cosmic; the first follows the citrus line but is slightly sweeter than the original, while Cosmic is a different style altogether—sweeter, woody, and almost smoky. In short, all three are excellent with a fantastic smell.

  • An interesting concept, but on my skin, the wild green note and slightly bitter galbanum dominate. It doesn’t have bad performance, but I wouldn’t buy it.

  • Being a lover of galbanum and frangipani, I had high hopes and was about to buy it blind. Luckily I found it displayed in a perfumery, and for the best: everything I smell is a coconut suntan lotion, sand and saltwater, like someone fresh out of the sea.

  • Forgive what I’m about to say… In my opinion, I bought this fragrance because online it says it smells like a piña colada, something I make myself with coconut cream, pineapple juice, rum and buala, a rich piña colada… But this perfume… nothing like the drink. To be honest, on me personally, it smells like… VAGINA. Something perhaps exciting for some.

  • Ignacio Bravo

Coconut, fig, sweet and enhanced green. Summer nights. They say people perceive it as suntan lotion or sunscreen. It’s distinctive, informal but with character, and lasts forever on clothes. Unisex, but I don’t think most would like it; it’s not pop music, it’s music for musicians.

  • An interesting concept, different from so many gourmand or sweet scents. It’s for adventurous noses who aren’t afraid to attract attention with something uncommon. On me, it lasts five or six hours; it projects like a beast for the first hour, then becomes personal but perceptible, causing many compliments and some dislikes. I understand it’s not for everyone and should be tested before buying. For me, a singular blind buy and a great discovery for days when I don’t want anyone else to wear what I’m wearing.

  • juliosoconnor

This is total summer. I bought it last summer because I loved it. My girlfriend and mother absolutely hate it, but others love it and tell me I smell good. The scent and performance are madness for €50 for 100ml. It smells different, unconventional, and projects massively for the first two hours. On skin, it lasts five more hours. On clothes, my mother ironed it and the smell came off on the iron; it was so unpleasant for her that she started washing it. I used it outside of summer and didn’t fall for it, but with the heat back and linen clothes, you fall in love again. Total summer, in all its splendour.

  • Simply wonderful. I ordered it blind, knowing the risk, and it has made me fall in love. I hope it comes back to stay.

  • Code: Pandorum

I bought it blind based on comments from colleagues saying it was ‘niche’. Nowhere near the truth. Either I’m very used to niche perfumes, or this doesn’t seem challenging to me at all. It’s not a bad smell, but it’s not unusual. If I were to paint the colours I perceive, it would be brown and green. It smells of vegetation and white flowers among wet tree trunks. It’s not creamy wood, but wet wood; that note is well done. It becomes more woody with the patchouli without losing the green. The ambergris gives a slight salty touch, almost marine. I applied it heavily and it was overwhelming, which is a good sign. The performance is good for the price. Projection stands out more than longevity, but it lasts almost a full day. 7/10.

  • I was really keen to try it, but I didn’t like it. They say it smells like a piña colada, but to me, it reminds me of insecticide. I agree it’s not for everyone. Personally, it’s not for me. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind; it’s all or nothing.

  • The projection is brutal; I smell it on people in the street. At work, I smelled a client and it was her, Paula. It smells very peculiar, nothing sweet, almost unisex with a masculine touch. It’s green, like freshly cut leaves, perhaps due to the galbanum. I didn’t notice the coconut, even though it’s listed; I wouldn’t have imagined it there. It’s a fresh breeze, aquatic, smelling of nature or a walk in the countryside. It doesn’t evolve much; it’s linear. It’s not my usual style, but it stands out for being so different. With that projection, you notice people as they pass.

  • Very herbal, it also has a very lasting petrichor aroma; it’s a wonder if you love the smell of earth and wet plants. Wish I’d known about it sooner, 10/10.

  • After testing Paulas Ibiza several times on skin and adding it to my shopping list, I simply say it’s a perfect fragrance. Why? Because it has everything it should: it evokes a unique olfactory experience that sets you apart, has good longevity (8 hours), very good projection, and a reasonable price for a designer brand. Speaking of the fragrance, I won’t dwell on the notes; I’ll just say what I smell: either you love it or you hate it. Despite the notes (which many imagine to be tropical), it smells of wet earth. Yes, wet earth, the earthy scent when it’s about to rain or starts to rain. Although citrus and coconut have more prominence at the start, after 20-30 minutes, that coconut blends with the green and wet wood notes, giving that wet earth scent, with slight sweet touches of coconut and vanilla. It’s not sweet; it’s green. It’s very versatile; I think it can be worn all year, although it reacts better with the heat of spring and summer. Buying it blind would be suicide; some people adore it and others find it very strange. For me, it’s a must-test because it proposes something unique in a market where there’s less differentiation than ever.

  • Tested several times: on skin, on blotting paper, in summer, in winter… and it always smells the same, like reheated plastic tubing.

  • I tested it in a perfumery and liked it a lot. It seems very balanced, not affected, herbal, or sweet… It’s more daytime and summery. Highly recommended. My boyfriend also thought it was good; he gave it 7.4: after a while, although it still smells good, it now smells more masculine. Super curious this fragrance.

  • Well, when I tested this perfume, something strange happened. Upon applying it, I loved the aroma; I felt it was unisex leaning masculine and liked it immensely, like the scent of a freshly showered person. Why? Because it reminded me of Natura soap, the Ekos Mate Verde, which I loved but was discontinued. I thought: I love it, but I’m not sure if I want others to smell this on me, as I find it more masculine and I’m used to sweet gourmand fragrances. Eventually, I decided to buy it anyway because it was on offer and a bargain. Back to the perfume: it’s super woody and herbal, but not that unpleasant grassy herbal, rather fresh herbal. You can feel the coconut, but it’s not the usual sweet kind. The best part is that as an EDT, it lasts a long time on skin and clothes, plus the trail. Ideal for summer. Not suitable for blind buys; some will love it and others will find it controversial.

  • Batch 2180414 (2020-08-05, good luck). An absolute bomb and I’m very happy. It’s more herbal than marine, but it does have it. Clean (like soap) and special. I don’t detect the coconut; I suspect it causes olfactory fatigue. This in summer has to be one of the best. I’m tired of sweet and cloying scents; possibly my perfume of 2025. Longevity: 8/10 (7-8 hours and still going). Scent: 8/10. Projection: 7/10. Bottle: 8/10 (the box drawings and gradient are very pretty, though the cap is normal plastic). Price: 9/10 (€56 for 100ml). Final note: 8/10.

  • I don’t understand most of the reviews. It smells to me like a primary school art class—a mix of plasticine, white glue, and lots of stick glue. It’s not a bad smell, but certainly not something I’d want to smell.

  • AntaresAres

This fragrance is summer by the seaside. It’s very green (that galbanum!) and woody, yet filtered by a bubbling coconut that bursts in the sun of an under-ripe tangerine. It reminds me of childhood, playing in the sand with sun cream, scratching at the fresh morning breeze when the shore was empty. It’s not a marine juice, but transparent and lush, like a sunlit young forest. I barely notice the floral notes, just a hint of sweetness. It’s a lovely, cheerful, carefree perfume, and certainly not for everyone, as it has a very hippy personality for current sweet-toothed tastes. Rebellious yet kind, I feel it’s dedicated to free-spirited people.

  • A fragrance 100% unlike anything else; it transports you from one place to another. Although it’s unisex, I find it leans masculine, yet I adore it for its authenticity, freshness, and herbal notes. The coconut appears intermittently—not that typical sweet coconut, but a dry, neutral one that, combined with the strong wood, creates a spectacular, sophisticated, and rustic blend. It’s highly evocative; it’s contradictory to wear it in the city because smelling it transports all your senses to nature: it smells of beach, rain, and forest. It’s everything that’s right. I want it in my collection forever.

  • It’s the most special fragrance in my collection. It’s the sand, the salt, the sea, the sun, the beach atmosphere… all of that bottled up. These are the kind of fragrances where you need to understand the concept and what the perfumer intended to recreate for you to like and appreciate it. Longevity and projection are, at least in my experience, excellent. I only wear it in summer; I don’t see it for another season. Totally unisex. My rating is 9.5.

  • limacero

It has become my summer signature. Entirely for that season, during the day, with sun and heat, and in the right setting (beach, nature, or a seaside terrace at dusk, but I repeat, it needs warmth). This isn’t for the office, the gym, or going out at night, as it just doesn’t work at all, and I’m speaking from experience after once turning up at the office in a black suit. It’s very green and humid, like freshly cut grass but without actually smelling like it (if they ever made one that truly smelled like that, they’d be lining their pockets). It also smells like somewhere that has just rained, but not a summer storm (if anyone ever manages to capture that scent, they’ll be rich). The coconut is noticeable, though as I’ve read, it’s not the typical kind, but more like a natural coconut or its water. I don’t detect the wood, the tangerine, the citrus, or that salt people talk about, nor the sea. Wearing it gives a strange sensation, as if the person smelling it might think it’s your natural body odour or that you’ve been somewhere that made you smell like this, though many people might not perceive it as a perfume. I fully agree; you need to try it on the right day, let it settle, and then decide. I’ve liked it and will use it this summer under those conditions. I’ll enjoy smelling different from everyone else. The longevity is just right, but while it lasts, it has a trail. It’s the most unisex scent I’ve ever smelled.

  • Not suitable for every nose. As an olfactory experience, it’s a 10, but personally, I wouldn’t wish to smell like this. Don’t buy blindly; test it on your skin first.

  • fire_flex

A perfume that truly won me over. In my opinion, it sits just above the designer segment, edging into niche territory in terms of structure. It could be seen as a bold cousin to JH G’s Vanilla Vibes, but with greater richness and evolution. If you get the chance, don’t miss out. It features sea salt, water, coconut, and galbanum, giving it that distinctive ‘different’ touch. The longevity, projection, and trail are excellent, especially in extreme weather. It’s perfect for informal settings, outdoors, the beach, coastal cities, or holidays. A designer fragrance with a niche soul.

  • Does anyone with a 2025 batch recommend buying it? I’ve heard they reformulated it and it’s no longer worth it.

  • Exactly, it has an opening reminiscent of a soft coconut, but very quickly that peculiar note emerges – yes, it smells of wet wood. I suppose the skin and how you wear it change the perception. It’s not a fragrance that stands out on its own through presence or visual appeal; it’s a complement that depends 100% on who wears it and how. It’s not easy to pull off; it’s evocative. You need to know how to wear it.

  • I purchased a 2025 batch and it retains the same potency. I’m genuinely surprised by the longevity; just a few sprays last all day. I absolutely love it. It feels elegant and sophisticated, totally distinct from current trends.

  • My older sister introduced me to this EDT and says it smells green. When I tried it, I initially noticed coconut and a green mandarin—acidic yet sweet, like the ones you eat. Then it faded, leaving galbanum with a balsamic touch that amplifies that green note. At first, I didn’t detect the wood; instead, it felt aquatic. One day I wore it on a cloudy day at 16°C, and it felt soft, with delightful, sweet bursts of green. It left a lasting impression, bringing me peace and reminding me of her. I love how it floats. It’s not a grassy green; it’s very well crafted, almost milky due to the coconut, not your typical green. Ambergris enhances everything. You can detect the flower, although I’ve never smelled plumeria before. There’s a very subtle hint of vanilla. It’s a 10, an absolute gem. I’ll definitely need a refill. I wish it existed as a fragrance unchanged. I know it has projection since my sister wears it. It’s an EDT but lasts quite a while. I’d like to know how patchouli smells on its own to recognise it later; perhaps it’s that subtle spicy aftertaste. If you enjoy green scents, you’ll love this.

  • damian exequiel

Take note of the notes: what dominates is that wet earth, it’s pure Loewe, it smells niche and not everyone will like it. It’s not an invasive bomb; if it smells of coconut or mango it’s tropical, but nothing like the ‘sprayed’ version of Ambassador. Don’t buy it blindly, plus it’s not cheap.
