I tried it two days ago and I’m going from memory. I love iris perfumes and try to sample them all; they usually suit me if they’re creamy and sweet. This one from Zara surprised me; it’s not a usual find in the store, nothing as commercial as Red Temptation or the thousand perfumes that imitate others… it didn’t remind me of any specific one, but I don’t know all the iris scents. It carries two types of iris and you can tell; it predominates above all, with a powdery touch but also earthy, herbal, natural… it’s very well made and I don’t rule out buying it; I’d even venture to say it might appeal to men. I don’t remember how long it lasted on my hand, but I do know that if I moved my hand, the scent came through, and the more it dried, the more I liked it. Well done Zara and well done Jo Malone.
One of the best iris scents in commercial perfumery. For me, it’s a niche gem in terms of scent and performance. On my skin, it covers all its facets: a green and earthy opening, a powdery middle with violet, and a creamy, dense, buttery dry-down, sometimes even milky-gourmand due to that rice touch which stands out more towards the end. I’ve loved it immensely. I can’t see a clear inspiration in another perfume. It’s versatile, striking, elegant, and sensual. Wearable all year round. I think it will appeal more to women, but it’s unisex. It lasted over 8 hours on my skin, and the sillage, without being heavy, is noticeable for 3-4 hours. It’s not for everyone, but 100% recommended for lovers of the note. Unbeatable quality-price ratio. Hurry, it’s still available.
I bought it during the winter 24/25 sale and it surprised me. Now I’m looking for complex and different profiles; Romance d’Iris wasn’t my first choice, but since Balade de Figuier wasn’t available, I found this budget gem. It’s a blind buy that usually fails me, but it was a surprise to discover this sleek cylindrical bottle. That complexity, scent, and quality made it feel niche, and I use it quickly. It reminds me of Eau de Papier by Diptyque; I’d define it as milky, powdery, and purple floral. It shines in cold winter weather, perhaps subtle for night or dense for day, but fantastic for crisp spring evenings. Though dense with a citrusy freshness at the start, it settles into a wonderful intimate scent. For me, who loves strong perfumes, it feels like a luxurious and sophisticated experience. Without a doubt, it’s my favourite iris scent and one of my go-to favourites. The only thing I hate is not knowing if it will be restocked; please let me buy more before I finish off this Zara treasure.
I bought it blind during an online sale. At first, I didn’t like it at all, but I gave it a chance and now I love it. It’s very earthy and powdery; you can tell there’s iris, but it doesn’t smell like grandma or give me migraines
I picked it up blind during an online sale. At first, I didn’t like it at all, but I gave it a chance and now I love it. It’s very earthy and powdery; you can tell there’s iris, but it doesn’t smell like grandma or give me migraines like others. It feels cool, as they say. It has good longevity and sillage. I love it.
It has a unique style, blending earth, rice, and iris. It’s cool and slightly sharp; you don’t forget you’re wearing it. In the cold, it feels a bit sad; I’ve only enjoyed it in the heat.
It has a very distinct style, blending earth, rice and iris. It’s fresh with a hint of spice that makes you aware you’re wearing it. In the cold it feels a bit melancholic; I only enjoy it in the heat.
As they say over here, it’s niche quality at a ridiculous price. If you like iris, I highly recommend it. It’s a very elegant and chic fragrance.
I loved it! It was exactly what I was looking for; I bought it blind based on the notes. I wanted iris, some violet and I’m glad it has rice, though I’d like to feel more of it. It’s powdery, pretty and the violet gives it a feminine touch. Between Dior Homme and this, I chose this and I think I made the right call; it relaxes me and makes me feel clean and zen. I’d dial down the violet a bit, hoping it doesn’t get tiring. I was missing this style in my collection; I already own the old rectangular Jo Malone scents which are beasts in projection and niche longevity, but this dark round bottle one seems reformulated and lacks the same quality 😞. As for potency and concentration, I doubt it will change over time, but for my use I don’t want a nuclear bomb that overwhelms me. Verdict: a total hit, I like it a lot. ✨ Now I want to try others from the line with fig.
What a find! I bought it blind based on the notes, and it’s exactly what I was looking for: iris, violet, and that lovely rice touch I adore, though I’d love to feel a bit more of it. It’s powdery, pretty, and the violet gives it a feminine air. Between buying this or Dior Homme (I was searching for something clean, ethereal, and powdery for my signature scent), I went with this and nailed it; it relaxes me and makes me feel zen. I’d dial back the violet a little so it doesn’t tire me out, but I was missing this style entirely. I own other gems from the old Jo Malone collection with brutal projection, but this one from the dark round bottle seems reformulated and lacks the same quality 😞. I doubt it will change much over time, and for my use, I don’t want a nuclear bomb. A 10/10 now; I’ll try the fig ones next.
