  • I bought it to try and discover what I like. I don’t own Hypnotic Poison so I can’t compare them; I’ll go to a perfumerie just to smell the original. I applied it and felt it wasn’t my style; I didn’t like it, I didn’t feel the sweetness or the vanilla; I hated the opening and after 30 minutes I couldn’t smell it anymore, as if it wasn’t there, but it was right on the skin. I showed it to my partner and he said it smelled like incense at first, that he didn’t like it because it seemed like it didn’t smell like anything. I have the new bottle; I’ll see how to use it or gift it. It’s a pity because I wanted to like it.

  • I bought it to try out and discover new scents. I don’t have the Hypnotic Poison to compare, so I’ll go to a perfumerie to smell the original. To be honest, I didn’t like it: I didn’t detect any sweetness or vanilla, the opening was repulsive, and after 30 minutes it was barely noticeable from a distance, though it did linger close to the skin. My partner thought it smelled like incense at first and couldn’t detect anything at all. I have the new bottle and will see how to use it or gift it. It’s a shame because I really wanted to like it.

It resembles Hypnotic Poison a lot, although it doesn’t last as long on me. But since it’s super economical, I reapply; I keep it in my bag.

Smells like Hypnotic Poison, though it doesn’t quite sit right on my skin. As it’s so cheap, I reapply without thinking and always keep it in my bag.

  • flor del sur

I use it and sometimes I like it and other times I don’t. What doesn’t suit me is the opening; it’s very alcoholic, but then the performance begins. I didn’t identify any top or middle notes; I just feel strong almonds and vanilla, sometimes it smells of coffee even though it doesn’t have it. It’s pleasant, and when I wear it, my husband asks if I’ve put something sweet on, although for me it’s not that sweet, he likes it. I think it performs better in winter and I’ll wait for the cold. It’s a lovely scent and it lingers on the skin for about six hours.

  • flor del sur

I bought it in summer and it smelled strange, odd, barely noticeable, very alcoholic at first. I waited until winter, and now when I apply it, it comes out strongly with alcohol and almonds, gently vanillic, like enjoying an amaretto, a nutty liqueur, not too sweet. After 15 minutes it softens but keeps the notes, minty and liqueur-like. Once dry, it’s pure almond, without vanilla or sweetness, despite the name. I like it because I adore almonds; my nose screams almonds in a bottle of liqueur. Please excuse the repetition; that’s what I smell. For cold seasons, the performance is good and it lasts six to eight hours. I put it on my bedding in the morning, and by night, the soft, almond-y, minty scent was still there.

Sweet Hope is sweet almond liqueur with a touch of coconut and vanilla. I don’t own Dior’s Hypnotic Poison, but if it smells like this, I’d buy it without a second thought; it’s deep, creamy, sensual, sweet, and lasts a long time. If you’re looking for something more economical than Dior, this La Rive is 100% recommended.

  • Marian power

What a lovely scent! I bought it at a bargain price and was pleasantly surprised; it’s wonderful on my skin. It lasts a maximum of four hours, but I reapply and enjoy it all over again. I absolutely love it.

  • Marian power

A wonderfully rich perfume that I bought very cheaply; it surprised me and is wonderful on my skin. It lasts a maximum of four hours, but I reapply and enjoy it; I love it.

  • It reminds me of the scent of new dolls. It doesn’t last long, but it gives bursts with air currents. It’s delicious.

  • Reminds me of brand-new dolls straight out of the box. It doesn’t last long, but a breeze releases delightful bursts.

  • Maribel Allende

Caught me by surprise: it’s a creamy, rich vanilla. For the price and quality, it’s worth it; reapplying doesn’t hurt. La Rive perfumes are surprising; although they seem like dupes with an initial alcohol hit, it vanishes in seconds, leaving that coconut and vanilla plum scent.

  • Maribel Allende

It caught me by surprise; it’s a creamy, rich vanilla scent. Given the price and quality, it’s worth it. Reapplying doesn’t hurt; La Rive products are surprising; it’s not pure alcohol as people think. At first, it smells a bit of alcohol, but within seconds it fades and the coconut with vanilla plum takes over.

  • It’s practically identical to Hypnotic Poison, yet I feel it lasts longer for a fraction of the price. I paid £7, whereas the original costs over £100. It’s incredible.

  • It’s almost identical to Hypnotic Poison, but I think it lasts longer for a ridiculous price; I paid 7,000 and the original is over 100, what a bargain.
