Very lovely, but without any trail. I can smell the anise and vanilla quite a bit on my skin, very soft, barely noticeable, unlike the original which is bold and can give you a headache if you overdo it. In this roller pearl version, it doesn’t happen; it smells creamier, with a sexy and vintage touch, classic and feminine. What a pity it is so understated, too soft!
Hypnotic Poison in this version, designed to be re-applied throughout the day, is a haven of peace compared to the potent scent of the original. It is softer, with a very faint trail; the roll-on limits the amount, leaving an intimate aroma, close to the skin, comforting like plum tea with vanilla and almond milk and a hint of anise. The anise stands out from the start, nothing stinging or alcoholic, but powdery, like the residue left on the cap. The bottle is beautiful: weighted glass, screw-top, ergonomic size that fits in the hand, evoking hypnotic magic that relaxes and helps you dream. Given the quantity (20ml) and these details, it is a perfect gift.
Disappointing. I thought it was a Hypnotic Poison EDT to keep in my handbag, but it isn’t. Anyone buying it for that purpose will regret it. The trail and longevity are poor, almost non-existent, and it wasn’t just me. It smells basically of anise, vanilla, and almonds. I read on a forum that it resembles the original EDT before the reformulation. Does anyone know if that’s true?
