I suppose I got confused in the perfumery with all the little papers. When I ordered it online and it arrived home, I hated it. Today is a day of disappointments. It smells like cheap, weak Garnier shampoo, more ‘matriarchal’. It doesn’t smell bad, but it’s not for me. I expected a wonderful peach and got nothing. If anyone can recommend a good perfume with standout peach notes, I’m all ears.

  • I just bought it and it doesn’t surprise anyone. It has the lowest projection I’ve tried; even cheaper perfumes perform better. Compared to the price I paid, I wouldn’t recommend it.

  • I had it in the box for years, thinking it was empty, and I barely remembered it. Now I tried to use it, but it’s a strong, invasive aroma; it even overwhelms and makes me feel unwell. I’ve come to hate it. Besides, I live in a humid, hot place where it doesn’t work on my skin or in the climate. It’s a shame I can’t use it, so I’ve decided to finish it, though I only wear it once a week to give my nose a break from that rather stately scent.

  • Although I’m new to fragrances, I’ve been a perfume lover since childhood. I met The One in 2006 and it was love at first sight. I live in the Canaries with a very warm climate, yet I bought it without hesitation. Since then, it’s been my companion for spring, autumn, and winter. On my skin, it always makes people ask what I’m wearing; they compliment me on such a ‘suggestive’ scent. I can’t explain it technically, but from the very first moment it’s sweet, sensual, classy, and even has a hint of sexiness. It lasts 6–8 hours on skin and up to 12 on clothes and hair. The One is my perfume of choice. I adore it 😍

  • I’ve read many reviews and sometimes I agree, other times I don’t (which is normal). I liked it: it seemed different, elegant, and potent. I noticed that sweet fruity, jasmine, lily, and musk; very feminine. Good longevity, around 8–9 hours with decent projection. It’s a good perfume, but don’t overuse it as the intensity can be off-putting. In short, it has a lot of personality and shouldn’t be bought blindly if it’s discontinued. I used it for a while, got tired of it, but not because it was bad, just because it wasn’t mine.

  • A little disappointing. I adore the men’s version, but this isn’t my style. It starts citrusy and fruity, then the sweetened white flowers take over, always with that powdery touch. Perhaps it would work for formal winter events, but in moderation.

  • A pity it’s so well-known, but it has a very particular and lovely scent for me. It’s like a warm embrace, cleanliness, and closeness. I imagine a lovely girl in a cosy jumper on a winter’s day.

  • A perfume with a distinct personality that’s noticeable from a distance. It’s not overpowering, just special. It was the first one that truly made me fall in love.

  • An unforgettable and utterly unique fragrance; I absolutely love it. What great longevity and projection! ❤️

  • A dear friend gifted me this perfume for my birthday. She said: ‘I saw it and it reminded me so much of you’. It is a beautiful perfume; the bottle is already elegant and golden, telling you you are facing a small, sweet and sophisticated jewel. The opening is very fruity, delicious and fresh, a juicy and youthful peach. Then comes the powdered vanilla, sugar and amber at the end. Perhaps the only thing I would change is that slightly cloying finish, almost like having sticky fingers from a honey caramel. This might be invasive for those who do not love sweetness, but for gourmand lovers it is a real delight. I would recommend the 30 ml version; it is good value and, being potent, you do not need many sprays.

  • If I could bottle sophistication, it would be one of Dolce & Gabbana THE ONE. As its name says, it is UNIQUE. There is no other like it. It is THE perfume of perfumes. Delicate, sophisticated, unique, with all the glamour in a single application of this marvel.

My grandmother has it and I asked her to let me try it, but it just doesn’t quite take. It’s not that I dislike it, but I wouldn’t buy it; there’s a note that simply doesn’t sit right with me. I prefer the Only One Intense.

  • I agree with LISS’s comment. I smelled the fragrance twice. The first time at a Dior counter, a sales assistant let me try it; nothing, it smelled very faintly of peach and vanished. The second time on my own, same result, just alcohol and nothing. It might change on skin because both times were on a dry day, but… zero projection. I would not advise buying it blind.

  • anamaestracorreo

I bought it because of its inspiration from Saphir (Select One). It is sweeter than that, but lasts a bit longer. I have to spray the original twelve times to feel it, and it falls short. I suspect it has been reformulated since 2006.

  • A very pleasant fragrance that remains in fashion. It feels feminine and quite soft on my skin. Upon application, I am enveloped by a delicious, sweet and juicy peach, not too ripe. This phase lasts about half an hour before turning into a veil of jasmine and ambered vanilla. I see it for daily wear, for a sensual woman. I have received compliments when wearing it to go out or work. It lasts 4 to 6 hours on me, with moderate sillage for the first hour and softer afterwards. As it doesn’t perform much on my skin, I tend to wear it after a shower before bed.

  • A unique fragrance that stands out in minutes. It is refined, classy, modern and enveloping. Warm, with vanilla, amber and woods at the end that make it irresistible. Ideal for dates, but also for formal or work situations. I haven’t stopped wearing it since it appeared. My only complaint is that the men’s version comes in a larger bottle than the women’s, a terrible injustice. The One has become a classic in my life; I would never stop using it.

  • Conchinavajas

Very feminine and sophisticated. I do not recommend buying it blind or for daily wear, as it has a ‘dense’ aroma that might overwhelm some… but I love it. Longevity and sillage are very decent. It is not my favourite, but I like to have it for special occasions; it is a real treat.

  • Intoxicating. At first, I detect peach and vetiver; the latter dominates, blending with the bitterness of the vanilla to frame the fruits. I detect no bergamot at all. The white floral notes appear in the trail, but close to the skin, the roughest elements stand out: vetiver and musk. A very good perfume, quite mature.

  • Lauryn Hill

This perfume is pure class. Everything is sophisticated; the scent is unique and the bottle is simple yet distinguished. In short, it is elegant. There is nothing like it; it is totally special. Ideal for galas or work dinners. It reminds me of a mature, serious, and refined woman, wearing a tailored suit over sexy lingerie and expensive jewellery. It lasts a long time, although it’s not for everyone; the bergamot can be dizzying, yet it blends incredibly well. One of my favourites.

  • It’s a curious scent, not really my style. The florals are too strong for me, and the vetiver dominates without any noticeable vanilla. It becomes quite linear over time. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind; it smells better on others than on my skin. Longevity and sillage are moderate. For me, it’s a no, but it is a classic. If your skin accepts it, don’t hesitate.

  • What a beautiful perfume… cosy, sensual with class, I love wearing it because I don’t smell it all over; it was overused a few years ago. It doesn’t tire, very versatile. But… it smells little and doesn’t last long. I heard it on someone this weekend and the scent is lovely; I think it’s one of those perfumes where you don’t smell it yourself but everyone else does… I love it, I’ll repeat.

  • Dama Incognita

A pleasant feminine fragrance, floral and fruity. On my skin the white flowers stand out surrounded by musk and amber; in the background is the fruity part, which isn’t overwhelming despite having several ingredients; the ones I noticed most were peach and lychee. Like @YSantana, I also couldn’t detect the vanilla.

  • anamaestracorreo

I came across this perfume through a school friend who wore it as her signature scent. It suited her perfectly, I liked the aroma and bought it a year ago. When I first bought it, it didn’t last or project anything, seriously… I needed ten sprays. Today I took it out of the wardrobe and it has gained body over these months. This one really does! A very pleasant, warm, fruity and vanilla scent. It won’t go out of fashion.

  • It’s spectacular. I adore this perfume. It’s sophisticated, sweet yet so different from those cloying sweets. I don’t like sweet perfumes much, but I can wear this in summer and on humid days and I love it.

  • It’s not my style: it’s fresh and sophisticated but I detect a lot of talc and alcohol. On my skin it dries out, doesn’t project sillage and doesn’t last long (a maximum of four hours). It depends greatly on each person’s pH.

  • I bought it blind and, to be honest, it was neither here nor there. At first I couldn’t decipher the scent, then I sensed a bit of pepper, followed by vanilla. It doesn’t smell bad but it’s not my style; I’ll give it to my mother.

  • I bought it from Decant last October. I wore it on New Year’s and it didn’t suit me; it seemed too heavy for the heat in Paraguay, which never drops below 40 degrees, but now in autumn, with the cold, I wore it and what a delight: sophisticated floral yet sweet. In my opinion, this fragrance is ideal for fresh or cold climates.

  • I LOVE it, both the feminine and masculine versions are a delight. I always wear it at night and it has never let me down; the scent is exquisite.

  • Goldcherry19

I didn’t pay much attention to it before as I had so many fragrances, but trying it on my skin again is a delight: elegant and tart fruity. The opening of lychee, mandarin and bergamot balances with a sweet vanilla touch, which is love to my nose. Ideal for any season, especially autumn and special occasions, but it’s so rich I wouldn’t mind wearing it every day in the office. Moderate longevity and sillage; I highly recommend trying it if you want to feel elegant.

  • Well, it’s a good perfume – sophisticated and serious with presence. I tried it once and liked it, but I wouldn’t buy it again.

  • The One, with calla lily, vanilla, and amber, is basically warm and velvety. Although the dry-down is a bit cloying, it’s addictive: a sweet floral with an elegant tendency, less sober than Dahlia Divina. It suits cheerful personalities. It resembles Michael Kors’ Wonderlust but is sweeter. Performance is decent; it projects strongly in autumn and winter and lasts six hours with force before fading. Being so sweet and ambered, be careful with sprays to avoid tiring the nose. Who will like it: amber-vanilla accord fans.

  • Sweet and intense, perfect for going out at night in winter. Its notes are potent, it lasts, and has presence; it’s great for parties. Strong with identity, classic. I don’t feel it’s youthful due to the sweet notes and powdery dry-down. I use it occasionally. I like having it.

  • dulcedelechee

After maceration, it becomes the richest perfume in the world, ideal for winter.

  • I never paid it much attention, but I tried it yesterday and I think it’s one of the best in quality, longevity, and warm aroma I’ve tried.

  • Years ago, while queuing in a shop, I asked the woman ahead about her perfume. She wore a magical, irresistible scent. She told me it was The One. I couldn’t afford many perfumes back then and kept the desire… until now. They gave it to me for Christmas. The opening didn’t excite me; it’s potent and more woody than fruity. The white flowers appear quickly and smell wonderful on my skin. It leaves powdery and musky nuances, pure delight. It has great personality, not for hot days or those seeking simplicity.

  • It’s a jewel no longer made. My bottle is 15 years old or more. My mother gave it to my grandmother, who didn’t like it, so I used to steal it from her vanity. I adored it until she gave it away. It’s powerful, ambered, nocturnal, and embodies Italian luxury and seduction. I don’t want to finish it because it reminds me of her. I don’t know the current formula, but I imagine it’s not the same as it was 20 years ago.

  • Sorry, but I didn’t like it at all. It smells very stately, neither sexy nor elegant. I tried it in a 5ml decant and didn’t even finish it; luckily I didn’t buy the full bottle blindly.

  • weirdquartz

It was my signature two years ago; I used it all the time. Now it feels a bit cloying, especially in the heat, and seems heavy. The amber, vanilla, and jasmine notes dominate; it’s warm and I’d only recommend it for evening wear, cold days, or elegant events. I don’t love the opening, but it shines once dried. It lasts far too long for me and has a brilliant trail. It’s sophisticated, with an elegance that screams money. It suits a classy mature woman or a young woman wanting to look mature on a date or party.

  • Postrecito_Vs

I tried it and noticed a powdery, sweet touch. It’s pleasant but not overbearing, as that would be annoying. It’s sophisticated, perfect for special occasions. It’s easily recognisable and I haven’t found anything similar.

  • Sweet, but in a strange way. At first, it smells like insecticide, though it improves as it dries and the jasmine with peach becomes noticeable. The longevity is medium-low; it suits those over 35 or 40 and isn’t my favourite.
