Descripción

Toy 2 Pearl by Moschino is a fruity floral fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2023, this composition was created by Domitille Michalon Bertier and IFF. In its opening, the top notes reveal a lemon, an acidic lime, a sorbet, and a touch of oregano. The heart unfolds with sandalwood, freesia, and jasmine, while the base settles on musk, cypress, and vetiver.

  • At first, it reminded me of the colour drops by Agatha Ruiz that I used when I was a teenager, then I started to dislike its herbal and citrusy scent, thinking of a dishwasher detergent. Of the bears, it is the one I liked the least; the sample I have, I think I will keep stored for a while to see if we can reconcile. I give it 4.5 out of 10.

With so many positive reviews, I decided to buy it blind. In the end, I gifted it to my mother. I thought I would get the same pleasant surprise I had when buying Toy Boy for that unexpected scent, but it wasn’t the case. I own many citrus and herbal fragrances, but this offers nothing new. I agree with many regarding its citrusy and fresh opening, but in my opinion, the sweet fruity note ruins it, undermining what should be a sparkling citrus perfume, and this one isn’t. Despite being citrus-based, I wouldn’t recommend wearing it on a hot day, as it becomes overwhelming due to that lemon-caramel smell. I consider it a totally unisex fragrance that can be worn by children and adults alike. Its trail and longevity are acceptable. Beautiful bottle, but the content is not innovative.

I tested it over the weekend with great curiosity about how the ‘sand’ note would turn out. What I concluded is that, as many say, it is a quite rich scent but nothing extraordinary. The opening features a burst of citrus that lasts several minutes, after which the floral notes and the sand note emerge, which is quite particular. The only downside is that the smell can resemble a summer department store air freshener. Although the fragrance is indeed long-lasting, with an average of 8 to 10 hours on skin and over 12 on clothes, it is definitely a fragrance for everyday wear in hot weather.

  • BlendParfum

Toy 2 Pearl seems to me a fragrance for daily wear, quite unisex. The oregano note gives it a zesty accent that makes it interesting. It reminds me a bit of CK One, but in a modern version. As if it were its next level in the 21st century. The entire Toy line by Moschino is very interesting.

  • I tried it today in the perfumery and was struck by how similar it is to Light Blue, which I own and love. Light Blue doesn’t last as long on my skin, at least compared to the Moschino tester. It’s not identical, but very similar, just a bit sweeter and more intense. I’ll definitely buy it next time; it’s my favourite Moschino scent so far.

I love it! Thanks to a sample, I’ve just bought it. Reading reviews, I have to say it doesn’t remind me of Light Blue at all, but rather a summer version of Escada that stood the test of time until it was unfortunately discontinued: Escada Into The Blue.

  • A very rich scent for summer. The longevity on skin is excellent; it lasted 12 hours until I went for a shower. The trail and projection are low, which is typical for a summer fragrance. However, I must say it is exactly the same as a perfume I bought at Aeropostale in the US and ended up wearing this summer in Argentina (I can’t recall the name). It’s identical! The only difference is that the Aeropostale version cost $19 for 100ml, whereas this one is over $70. Cheers.

Guys, I tried this and wow, what a delight! 😍😍🥰🥰 It’s a pity I felt a bit more feminine, but that citrus blend with freesia and jasmine, alongside the sea and musk notes, is absolutely delicious. Ladies, buy it!

  • To me, this fragrance is a little confusing. The opening is attractive, well-citrusy and clean, quite unisex… but after 20 minutes, in the dry-down phase, it becomes very dry and mossy. In my opinion, the cypress and vetiver stand out too much, leaving a woody and earthy scent. If it had a more amber base, I’d like it more. I don’t think it’s worth buying blindly.

  • Persefonex

The opening is sorbet-like, then super citrusy. Lemon in the truest Cheap & Chic Love Love style. Yes, it smells like lemon cleaner. Definitely very fresh. I prefer it to Light Blue because the lemon note is purer. I’d mix it with Soleil du feu by Tom Ford and it would be perfect. The musk drydown gives it a different touch than simple lemon, making it a pleasant fragrance.

  • Renzillodeville

I was lucky to buy it at an excellent price and, for what I paid, I found it smells rich. I like it more than the black Toy Boy, quite citrusy and the dry-down has an interesting scent. It’s unisex, so if you don’t like the bottle colour, beware.

  • If you’re from Mexico, this scent will automatically take you to InnovaSport stores; it’s the same but less intense (just the aroma makes me leave those shops). There’s lots of oregano, and the citrus bloom lasts very briefly, which in my opinion is the best moment (it lasted about 10 minutes). Ideal for the office, nothing remarkable for my taste, very skin-scented. Beautiful bottle. Personally, I wouldn’t buy it.

  • Highly criticised, in my opinion… but in my short experience, almost all unisex scents get that. The aroma is pleasant, fresh, clean and youthful. I’d wear it for the beach or outdoors in the heat. Many say it smells like floor cleaner, but I feel it smells more like a citrus air freshener or orange soap. It’s worth more for the lovely packaging, but as a fragrance it’s neither surprising nor essential; it would make a good gift for a pre-teen.

  • I’m not a fan of citrus and the opening is scandalously acidic, but the dry-down is another world entirely; I adore it. Only drawback is the trail is very short. It’s more unisex at the start, but the dry-down is musky and slightly feminine, though I’d still consider it unisex.

  • Ricardo-powa

It’s citrusy, yet floral and musky all at once. Quite original, just like everything Moschino usually delivers. It hits the floral notes spot on: freesia and jasmine, scents also found in men’s fragrances. The musk gives it that summery touch 🤙

  • Martínvenezuela

If you’re a man aged 20 to 35, buy this straight away regardless of what you currently wear; it smells like 2024 and well-groomed people. Five stars. I bought two 100ml bottles; just imagine the staying power.

  • Reminds me of Light Blue and Summer Vibes, but this smells more aromatic and is truly unisex. Very nice!

  • Very rich, nothing new, but what a pleasure, it pleases a lot. Unisex, fresh, citrusy and potent for the first few hours. 7 hours easily on skin, on clothes until the next day. I haven’t heard Light Blue smell like this for sure; I will buy it; it’s delicious. Algobierno.

  • I perceive it as a palette of lemon with a pinch of oregano; it sounds strange but it works. I expected another Light Blue, but this feels more modern in the same line. It’s so unisex that it suits me (I consider myself a very feminine woman who wears pink medical scrubs) and also my teenage son. Special for a sunny day, it’s a good quality, youthful citrus. Another adorable bear.

  • EnriqueSeguraJ

Citrus with a bit of sorbet and a touch of spice or herbs. Nothing unpleasant, but also not an incredible scent. I wouldn’t buy it for either women or men. It’s not ugly, it’s different, but nothing to praise.

In my entire life, I’ve only fallen in love at first sniff twice: with Black XS as a child and with this Toy 2 Pearl as an adult. My girlfriend and I can’t stand strong florals; they give us headaches. This has nothing to do with that and we liked it from the start. It opens with a lemon sorbet that lasts all the time; you can smell the oregano, and then the freesias gently embrace the musk. It’s neat from start to finish. The feeling is one of cleanliness, a classy clean, despite some associating it with floor cleaner; to those people, I say: I wish a floor cleaner existed with this aroma. Although it would be madness to compare them, I own Terre d’Hermès EDP and feel that this Toy 2 Pearl would be a younger, more fun and sparkling brother, in contrast to the professional, suited-up brother. Citrus wrapped in a different way. It also reminds me of Versace Blue Jeans, not by composition but by approach: a rich perfume, not too complicated, that makes you feel clean and fresh, plus it smells sensational. That’s its function. Compliments: you will receive them, but most importantly, you must like it yourself; it’s a stamp of your personality. Try it on your skin; many perfumeries sell decants before buying the bottle. In my case and my girlfriend’s, we couldn’t stop smelling our wrists. With friends, at the beach, at the office, since it’s not overpowering, it’s versatile. In the cold, I don’t see it doing much, although if it’s the only one you have, it works too. Here in Chaco, from December to February, it’s horrible and humid heat; in these climates, it can really play as a star every day and at any time; it would never clash.

  • I can’t stop smelling it! It’s super summery, reminding me of fresh herbs with a pleasant sweet lemon. I had tried it several times and kept smelling my wrists. Finally, I bought it and spent the whole day enjoying that green, clean scent. After a few hours, the lemon fades and a very green cypress remains. I was looking for something similar but more potent, as I was afraid to invest in something soft without projection, but I couldn’t find anything so captivating. Although it has almost no sillage, it’s a perfume to boost self-esteem and fill you with energy. Right on the skin, it lasts until the next day and even survives a shower.

  • Santiago T

It’s a unique perfume: fresh but with lots of personality, super quirky. Behind that fresh lemon, there’s a world of thyme, something affected and floral. It’s madness. I’m not sure for what situation, but I see it for daytime.

  • Smells muuuuch too good; it’s one of my favourite citrus scents. At first, it smells slightly sweet lemon, which some might associate with floor cleaner, but then it passes. The touch of oregano (which, although it sounds strange, smells fantastic) becomes more noticeable. It’s very linear: the strong initial lemon fades away, but that’s not a bad thing. It’s a staple: if you don’t know what to wear, choose this and you won’t regret it.

  • I tried it in a shop on a damp, cold autumn day and noticed a super refreshing grapefruit scent. I kept smelling my hand and fell in love with it. It lasted exactly 7 hours; I would love to have it in my collection.

  • Wlad Molina

A unique pearl in the sea of citrus. It starts bright and lively, without being aggressive, before quickly yielding to a heart of herbs and resins with a soft floral base. Dried oregano gives it structure and personality, setting it apart from typical aquatic scents like Light Blue. It’s a clean, resinous freshness, elegant and versatile, perfect for holidays or everyday wear, without being the classic fresh masculine or boring floral feminine. It lasts just enough for an EDT: light and unobtrusive. Rating 8.5/10. It turns lemon and oregano into a unique twist within the aquatic world.

  • Candrezfernandez

Super unisex perfume, rich and easy to wear; the best part is that compliments never keep you waiting.

  • Chocolate con licor

It’s not an exotic perfume as the reviews suggest, nor is it a common one. It smells like lemon ice cream and then you get a note of oregano, nothing more. At first, it reminded me of the air freshener in my bathroom, which happened with two other Moschino perfumes; apparently, that’s their target, haha. After that, the oregano did add more personality. The note is common: lemon, with an oregano base, but this doesn’t stand out on its own, only enhancing the sweet-and-sour lemon ice cream aroma. Neither here nor there. I think the price is somewhat excessive and it never seems to me like anything more than lemon ice cream.

  • Feaganciasqueenamoran

A citrus perfume with more to say. It’s rich and fresh but with a just-right dose of intensity. Suitable for any age and gender. Right on the skin it lasts from day to night, same on clothes. On the skin, it’s excellent for two hours and then fades, lasting another five or six hours feeling present; it’s very good. It’s so versatile that a teenager could wear it at 15, a woman of 70 for a tea with friends, or a man for the gym. A true all-rounder.

  • It’s rich because it has that Light Blue for Her citrus DNA, but BUT! In the dry-down phase, I detect a cilantro/fresh parsley scent on my skin that I don’t like; I don’t know if it’s the oregano mentioned in its notes, but that aroma displeases me quite a bit; by the time it dries, it becomes a quite pleasant scent.

  • If there is one truth in perfumery, it’s that scents and emotions are strongly connected. There are scents that bring me well-being and others, like this one, that evoke memories that now cause me anguish. Memories of a relationship that didn’t work out, or perhaps letting myself be led, I thought it could happen. Being this a different review, I must admit that Toy Pearl is very rich and I liked it a lot from the moment I tried it, barely launched in my country. Literally it’s a frozen lemon foam accompanied by oregano, which marks its presence from start to finish. It’s refreshing, ideal for hot days, with excellent longevity and projection. Initially it was catalogued as feminine but it’s perfectly unisex (I see Fragrantica has updated that). Perhaps the oregano note means they wouldn’t recommend it as a blind buy; I understand it’s not to everyone’s taste. I had the opportunity to buy it for the co-protagonist of this story, taking advantage of its good price and its almost non-existent use, as I always had it in mind as a future acquisition. Circumstances caused this perfume, although delicious, to ultimately trigger feelings of sadness in me. I love it but I can’t smell it; I have it but can’t use it; it’s kept in a box alongside others I bought with it, waiting to be able to sell it, gift it, or something I don’t rule out, return it so someone else can resell it. This review is about that: scents and emotions, about how a perfume can be capable of cheering someone up or, on the contrary, afflicting them. Finally, I’d like to ask users of this site if anyone has experienced something similar with any perfume or am I the only madman (or fool, I don’t know) who goes through this. Greetings to the community.

  • Batch 02/2024. The perfume smells quite rich and fresh; right after applying it, it smells like lemon snow (not lemon ice cream), completely unisex. I recommend wearing it on hot days as that’s when it really stands out. I also detect a note of oregano which, on my skin, seems to last the entire life of the fragrance and doesn’t quite agree with me; after half an hour, it turns into a freshly cut grass scent. It smells nice, but I can’t help imagining food due to the oregano note. I say this perfume is unisex but leans slightly towards feminine. It’s not an unpleasant smell and frankly, I feel no one will be bothered by this fragrance if you wear it. It’s a safe purchase, but I’d suggest testing it on your skin first to see how the fragrance develops. I feel most perfumes last long on me; I put this on at 12 pm and can still smell it at 8 pm, and on clothes it lasts days. Scent 10/10, Sillage 8/10, Longevity 10/10.

  • NatyRiveros

One of my favourite citrus perfumes; it has excellent longevity. It’s not a common lemon scent, like the blues from various designers; its DNA is more complex. I recommend it 100%.

  • Per-fu-ma-zo! The citrus dominates, almost like a lemon ice cream. What makes it different is a note of oregano, which adds a very characteristic herbaceous and spicy nuance. It’s similar to Light Blue for Women but more herbal, whereas the women’s version is more floral. That slight difference makes it lean towards the masculine, although it would come excellent on a woman too. It’s the ‘masculine’ version of Light Blue for Women… How? Yes, because the original masculine version goes down a different line. In summary: Scent: 9.5/10, Longevity: 6/10, Sillage: 8/10, Projection: 8/10, Versatility: 7.5/10. Final score: 8/10.

  • What a delight, what freshness. Like the garden of my childhood with lemons and grapefruit, and the neighbour’s garden at the back with his laurel and oregano in almost bush-like clumps. Too good to be called just ‘beautiful’; it’s different and totally unisex.

  • marianaaimeeev

Very fresh and smells incredible; the bottle is super quirky and fun. It leaves me with a feeling of happiness and playfulness. It’s citrusy like lemon snow with a hint of honey. I loved it and want it in my collection. I detect a slight resemblance to Light Blue, but they are totally different. A great perfume.
