Have you worn Yog Nog?

Tell us how it opens, how it settles on your skin, how long it lasts and when you wear it.

  1. There are only two ingredients on the label: cloves and ylang-ylang, and the result is madness. This body spray, which passes itself off as an extract, has snuck straight into my top 5. I went to Lush looking for something else, unsure of what to try, and the assistant, upon hearing I love sweets, launched me into this gourmand that is pure gold. It smells like a Christmas party in a Canadian cabin: caramel, eggnog, home, and a roaring fire. It’s not elegant, but it’s delicious. The projection is beastly, filling the room, and it lasts hours on the skin and days on clothes with just two or three sprays. Value for money is impeccable, 25 euros for 100 ml. The only flaw is the bottle, which looks like a window cleaner’s atomiser, ugly, and sprays an uncontrolled amount of this monster. If you like sweets, give it a go. Watch out, it’s limited edition. Scent 10/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 10/10, Value for money 10/10, Versatility 5/10, Packaging 4/10. Would I buy again? Yes.

  2. I have the body spray, not the perfume, but it’s not listed here. It’s my first purchase at Lush and I haven’t gone wrong: the girl recommended this and another in perfume format, and I kept both (they’re from autumn and Christmas). According to my experience, the body spray lasts infinitely longer than the perfume; I love it and it’s entered my top 5. A downside: the packaging wastes a lot of product; it’s a rip-off, so I’ve put some in another bottle because this isn’t a body spray, it’s a proper powerhouse. If you like gourmand scents, you’ll love it: it’s sweet, spiced, long-lasting, and has beastly projection. It’s a marvel. Will I buy more body sprays? Of course, it has conquered me with its quality. However, I don’t think I’ll buy the perfume again; it’s not worth it.

I bought it blind because it was a limited edition and I’ve since fallen for Lush (better late than never). It is ULTRA SWEET, one of the sweetest aromas I’ve smelled, even though I’m a fan of gourmands. It smells like cookies and caramel, but the ylang-ylang is very noticeable. Very warm. More than a body spray, it smells like a perfume, a complex sweet. It’s a titan in terms of longevity and projection, so be careful with the sprays (somewhat difficult due to the Lush format). I liked it, but it becomes severely overpowering.

  6. I have a love-hate relationship with this fragrance (I have the body spray). At first, it smells very strongly of ylang-ylang, lingers for a few minutes, and gives off a sensation of ‘old’ (not age, but an 80s granny’s cologne that’s been sitting in the dressing table for years), but in the end, it leaves the sweet, spiced aroma of cloves. If they reduced the intensity of the ylang-ylang and added cinnamon, it would be perfect

  7. I have a love-hate relationship with this (I own the body spray). At first, it screams ylang-ylang, lingers for a few minutes, and gives off a vibe of an 80s granny’s cologne, but then the sweet, spiced clove comes through. If they toned down the ylang-ylang and added cinnamon, it would be perfection.

What a strange madness. Cloves and ylang-ylang? It sounds like a laboratory mistake, yet it smells 100% like Christmas. It reminds me of that spiced vanilla from Vanilla Supermassive. In the end, it’s that scent that embraces you and takes you straight to a Christmas cabin without you realising it.
