There are perfumes that please others that impress but very few that touch the soul. Nefs by Nishane is not for wearing; it is for feeling lived. From the first sweet honeyed spark you know you have stepped into a parallel universe. Its dry-down rich and enveloping wraps you in soft opulence like settling into a velvet armchair within a secret library in Istanbul. The rose honey saffron and precious woods do not compete; they converse. It is a complex yet harmonious texture that makes you breathe more slowly as if the world has become more leisurely and beautiful. Emotionally Nefs reconciles you with yourself. It does not make you feel more attractive or secure but rather more rooted and complete. It is one of those fragrances that reminds you who you are amidst stress or dehumanised routine. It gives you weight and presence yet with an aura of intimate mystery that demands no attention but inspires respect. It is not scandalous; it is imposing from silence. In daily life Nefs does not fade. Not only do those around you often ask what you are wearing with an almost reverential glance but you yourself remember it hours later and take refuge in it. There are days when you have no desire to go out but with Nefs life seems a little more noble more literary. It is a fragrance that dignifies everyday existence. Compared to other high-end options of similar price such as Roja Dove or Xerjoff you realise that Nefs not only matches their technical quality (projection longevity evolution raw materials) but connects on a more human level. It is not merely a masterpiece of composition; it is an emotional experience. And that has no price. It is a perfume you do not need every day but one you will want to have for when the day deserves it or simply to turn an ordinary day into an unforgettable memory.
For some noses it is not a simple perfume. On first use it raised an eyebrow and I thought about throwing it away leaving it unused for a few months. One day I decided to try it again and received many unexpected compliments which made me use it more often. With use I discovered its best facet to enjoy from beginning to end. Its dry-down lasts three to four hours and usually leaves a magnificent nuance. The recommendation is to try it: it is a mature woody scent with great class worthy of being in your options.
For some noses I suppose: it is not a simple perfume. On first use I raised an eyebrow and thought so highly of it that I left it unused for a few months. One day I decided to try it again and received many unexpected compliments which made me use it more frequently. With regular use I was able to discover its best facet to enjoy from start to finish. Undoubtedly its dry-down of three to four hours often reveals a magnificent nuance for wearing. The recommendation is to try it; it is a mature woody scent with great class. Worth trying and deserving a place in your options.
Thanks to a super friendly and knowledgeable sales assistant at a niche shop I was able to experience a leisurely olfactory journey into an unknown world. How to explain a fragrance so intertwined connecting and melting notes to create a complex yet easy-to-remember construction? Nefs is the embodiment of perfume art in a bottle. It expresses more than its creation: it is the concentration of art love and fascination for this world. Perfumes like this must be smelled felt and absorbed to understand what the perfumer intends; sniffing a strip of paper simply does not do it justice. It is an experience that although the price is prohibitive and you cannot find it on every corner is worth it. Nefs by Nishane is true luxury: aged oud exquisite rose and jasmine osmanthus and a vibrant bouquet of saffron spices softened with honey balanced with a touch of whisky. The flowers and spices vibrate on the skin avoiding the heaviness typical of oriental scents. A rich gourmand woody base adds modern sensuality leaving a captivating and elegant trail. Definitely honey lovers will adore it although here it notes less sweet perhaps because the saffron absorbs some of its essence. In short it is a heavy spiced slightly sweet and fruity potion refined and without stickiness at a price out of reach for most. And perhaps that is better so that it remains a dream.
The scent is very rich but it smells very similar to other sweet oud fragrances. On my skin the performance does not match its excessive price: it lasts barely four hours and sits very close to the skin. I am glad I have the discovery set from the brand as they have very rich aromas but I do not know if I will buy a bottle given its poor value for money.
