Not mine. At first, I thought I’d love it, but while the citrus sparkles initially, on my skin it dries out and becomes earthy, making it seem very masculine. It might be a lovely scent for a man, but it lacks anything truly special to warrant calling it a great perfume. It has moderate sillage and longevity; it’s not unpleasant, nor is it overwhelming or intrusive, but it feels a bit rough. It’s not the kind of scent that attracts me in a gentleman, and I’d like to keep enjoying it. It’s discreet, evolves little, almost linear. It has a hint of incense, but it doesn’t improve it. A man would probably find more charm in it than I do as a woman, though I must say I prefer any other masculine citrus, such as Acqua di Parma’s ‘Intense Colonia’, which it reminds me of.

Maison Crivelli’s Citrus Batikanga might not be their most niche offering, but it boasts excellent quality and nuances that make it distinctive within the common. To my nose, it’s a citrus festival with cardamom (dominated by grapefruit), sweetened by rhubarb well-blended with myrrh, which gives it density. Vetiver and chilli sit in the background to add effervescence throughout the evolution. If there’s a downside, it’s the performance, but it’s not below average. I feel it would be the lost sibling of Acqua di Parma’s Myrrh Colonia, but less mature and more jovial. I’ve loved it; I see it as ultra-versatile, high quality, and perfectly unisex. Sometimes, the common and basic taken to maximum potency still works. Rating: 8.5/10.

It’s a slightly basic citrus. What stands out most is the bergamot, chilli, and vetiver. It’s linear and lacks significant evolution. It’s not a fragrance that will drive anyone wild or make people seek you out in a crowd.
