Libre Intense by Yves Saint Laurent

I can imagine a lawyer running through the courts with this perfume, a business woman style. Unfortunately for me, it’s a no. The opening captivates me; it smells very vanilla with a spicy touch, but then it drops to too much lavender, and upon drying, it becomes talcum and honeyed, at least on my skin, like honey with dust.

It’s pure floral, faithful to the Libre DNA but with a strong twist from the orange blossom that gives it a citrusy freshness. You can detect jasmine, reinforcing that white flower vibe. It remains feminine, creamy, and enveloping. It’s a distinctive, present, and slightly sexy aroma without being heavy. Ideal for autumn and winter because it ‘hugs’: sweet, floral, and creamy, with that citrus brightness that balances it. If you like the original Libre but are looking for something more floral, warm, and packed with white flowers, you’ll love this. Lasts more than 10 hours on clothes without issues.

It happens to me the same as with Burberry Goddess… on my skin, the lavender stands out hugely, a scent I don’t like; it reminds me of a closed car. On the test strip, it seemed spectacular to me, but on me… it leaves much to be desired. One thing is certain, it’s a perfume that women have complimented on me. It smells of lavender, citrus, warm, even slightly spicy.

It was a blind buy and love at first sniff (I tested it in Liverpool, but I think it was another flanker), but I absolutely adore this one. This jewel smells of luxury: it opens with citrus and full-on lavender, then settles with the sweetness of jasmine and the cleanliness of orange blossom. I don’t detect the orchid. The dry down is divine, with that delicious vanilla, the earthiness of tonka bean giving it body, and ambergris to seal the deal. It’s sweet, overwhelming, and sensual, with a longevity of 10-12 hours on me and an intense trail. I would buy it 1000 times over.

What a beast of a perfume! I sold it and now I miss it, haha, but I hate that orange note; the tangerine was suffocating me as it dried down, it even made my neck itch or I imagined it did. If they did the same thing but with another fruit, like a strawberry… who knows, it’s my dream. It’s something precious, high quality, like the ones they no longer make these days. I’m sitting here waiting for them to invent a Libre Intense Cherry or whatever, haha, lots of kisses.

It comes out citrusy but not like the Libre EDP. This one is undoubtedly more nocturnal and indeed intense. I like it; it feels particular, less citrusy and slightly sweeter. Obviously, they share lavender and orange blossom; they are two similar perfumes, but the Libre EDP is much fresher and cleaner, whereas this one has more body and overpowers it if you wear them together. It is intense but not cloying; no note is overwhelming. It is balanced between acidity, sweetness, and floral. It is excellent; I agree that the chords are the same as the Libre EDP but it is not the same perfume. I like it very much; I feel it is flirtatious, elegant, and a bit animalic.

Definitely the flanker that smells the best. It is sweet, elegant, and addictive. A blend of lavender and citrus with white flowers, wrapped in a spiced and sophisticated vanilla that changes the perfume and gives it its own personality. A 10/10.

Velvet lavender. For a long time, I made the mistake of judging a fragrance by its top notes… and worse, on a dry strip. I learned that this initial impact is merely a door; what comes after is what truly matters. With Libre Intense, I decided to wait. I did not rush. It was during the dry-down where the magic happened: the lavender stops feeling so herbal and begins to feel creamy, enveloping, and sophisticated. Everything around it—the jasmine, the vanilla, the soft spices—does not compete but accompanies it with elegance. This perfume made me understand lavender in a different way: not as a fresh barber-shop note, but as a warm, elegant heart. The jasmine, usually associated with femininity, is presented here as balanced and unlabelled. It does not shout, nor does it bloom excessively. Here, it is part of a blend that feels perfectly unisex, elegant, and characterful. I cannot say it is identical to the original Libre. It feels deeper, more serious, more intimate, yet without losing that DNA. They are certainly sisters, but this one has a more sensual and less explosive air. My recommendation: do not judge it in the first minute. Give it its space and its time, and you will see what it hides. My rating: 9/10

I love this perfume!!!, it is beautiful!! I love the Libre, but this Intense version and the EDT are my favourites. It is an elegant, sexy, luxurious, winter, and evening fragrance. Its quality is excellent, it lasts for many hours, and leaves a wonderful trail. It is perfect for special occasions or couple dates. For the moment, it is on my wish list; I will buy it one day.

My girlfriend gifted me this, her signature scent. It opens with lavender and bergamot, super fresh, but then turns sweet with vanilla and white flowers without being cloying. It’s a perfect balance: not a classic fougère, more of a safe bet that everyone likes, but the note quality is top-notch. Lasts about 8 hours and smells good anywhere. It reminds me of my girlfriend: mature, cultured, and elegant. Projection: 8/10, Dry-down: 9/10, Longevity: 8/10, Sillage: 9/10, Versatility: 10/10, Bottle: 6/10, Value for money: 8/10.

Exquisite, until it reminds me a bit of JPG’s Classique Essence.

Definitely my favourite. It has that syrupy or honey-like texture where you float in a cloud. It’s an adult vanilla with lavender and florals; nothing stands out too much. It’s a sexy but discreet woman in a jumper. Ideal for dinners or dates; in the office, you have to be careful not to overwhelm the person next to you. Not for girls or older ladies, best suited for ages 25 to 45.

I tried it in a shop looking for vanilla and was disappointed. It lasts a long time and has good sillage, but the initial scent is awful, then it smells old. It reminds me of Euphoria and Tresor, with that same heaviness that gives me a headache.

I love it; it’s intense yet youthful. You can tell the citrus and vanilla. It has good fixation and longevity, and over time, that sweetness remains without being annoying. Ideal for those who aren’t scared of intensity; my skin is tricky and this stayed true to its notes. It doesn’t smell like a lady, perfect for over 30s.
