Starts strong with patchouli and honeyed cherries, staying linear for a good while. As it dries, the pistachio adds a green sweetness that blends beautifully with a plush tobacco base, softened by cashmere and sandalwood. It’s a bold scent with impressive longevity and projection. It works wonderfully in smoky environments and is totally unisex. You can see and smell its launch era in Oblique Rewind; the bottle fascinates me. I have the box with the two swappable capsules and the original case, all very early 2000s. It’s a shame it’s no longer available; I think with a different concept and packaging it would have gained huge acceptance today among fans of Black Orchid or Angel. When I bought it, I came across the full Oblique family, but Play and Fast Forward were badly damaged. Rewind is still in perfect condition, though perhaps it has lost a bit of punch in the top notes.
