This is my crown jewel so far
This is, so far, my crown jewel.
I bought the discovery sets for the three main INITIO collections. Two stood out more than the rest: Side Effect and this one, Addictive Vibration. They were sent to my home (and three others too, XD). For me, this one shone above the rest. And look how good they all are… what does it smell like? It’s carnal, sexual, beastly… a genuine weapon of seduction. Very floral, dark and sweet. I understand the link to Alien; it follows the same line but with many nuances. If you like Alien, you’ll love it, and if you don’t, you’ll still enjoy it. Besides, the development is better than Side Effect, Musk Therapy and almost everything else I own from Initio. It lasts longer and projects better.
Nothing more, very generic…
Addictive Vibration is the hidden gem of Initio, a fragrance that is unfortunately often eclipsed by the success of other works from the house, but which undoubtedly deserves to be highlighted. Its profile is floral-vanillic and it enchants everyone. The combination of vanilla orchid with orange blossom and apple, bathed in a wonderful note of honey, creates a magical work that transports you to a paradisiacal place. Excellent performance, and although it’s expensive, I think it’s one of those fragrances that truly justifies the price. I recommend trying it and being pleasantly surprised by this marvel.
Ah, what a delicious aroma. It feels like a tincture of red berries (which it doesn’t declare), heavy yet fresh, edible (or drinkable, like a juice), it’s coquettish and nocturnal. I’m surprised they consider it feminine (perhaps due to the flowers and sweetness), but it’s 100% unisex, everyone wins here.
But what is this magic? For me, it’s one of the best I’ve perceived. I fell in love from the very first instant. It’s like a cousin of Alien, but improved, more sophisticated and sensual. It smells of jasmine with a honey note that is not cloying. Queen of praise. Unfortunately on me (and happens with almost all of Initio), it doesn’t last as long as I’d like. It gives me about 3-4 hours. But it’s worth it for the magnificent aroma.
What sorcery is this? For me, it’s one of the finest fragrances I’ve ever tried. I fell in love at first sniff. It’s like a cousin of Alien, but improved—more sophisticated and sensual. It smells of jasmine with a honey note that isn’t cloying at all. A queen of compliments. A pity that on my skin (and I find this with almost all Initio scents) it doesn’t last as long as I’d like, only about 3-4 hours. But it’s worth it for the magnificent scent.
At first it has the vibe of Alien but that’s about it. Addictive Vibration presents itself as darker, more sinister, tremendously enigmatic. It’s something spectacular and very feminine! Initio is, in my opinion, one of the best niche houses I’ve known, very oriented towards men and for me I only identify with the white ones (Hedonist line), but if I were a man little by little, I would gradually get used to all of them.
I tested this fragrance in an 8ml decant thanks to a specialised niche subscription service (Yuniqu), as otherwise I wouldn’t have invested given the price. Addictive Vibration is, as its name suggests, quite addictive. The day I applied it, I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist. It’s an opulent gourmand and almost heavy if over-applied, more suitable for winter. In summer, one spray on each wrist is enough, better if it’s a cool day. Apple and honey predominate, with some white flowers, especially orange blossom, but it’s mostly sweet. Very good longevity, 10-12 hours, although after the first 4-5 it becomes more subtle. Due to its depth, I’ll use it more for the evening. It hasn’t been bad at all as a first approach to niche. Although they have a reputation for being overrated, this one in particular has delighted me and met my expectations. I hope to continue testing more in the coming months to form a more complete opinion about the different houses in the sector.
