Chopard has delivered a proposal that has nothing to envy from Arab houses. This Amber Malaki lives up to its name: a sweet amber with an exotic vanilla and incense base. It is a catalogue unisex that any prestigious Arab house like Lattafa or Swiss Arabian could have signed. The difference lies in the trail: here Chopard has managed the balance between potency and discretion. Ideal for lovers of Arab style or amber scents. It has a nocturnal soul but works on fresh days. Thanks, Jerry Drake.
Chopard joins the league of Arab houses with this Amber Malaki, which lives up to its name: a sweet amber over vanilla and exotic incense. It is a catalogue unisex that any of the greats from the East, such as Lattafa or Swiss Arabian, would have signed. The key is in the trail: here Chopard achieves the perfect balance between potency and discretion. Ideal for fans of Arab style or amber scents, it is a perfume with a nocturnal soul that works on fresh days. Thanks, Jerry Drake.
This perfume is hard to come by; distribution was likely outside Europe, probably in the US. It’s one of the three in Chopard’s Malaki range. Upon application, you realise you’re dealing with a very unusual fragrance, likely due to the blend of incense, orange blossom and papyrus, until fortunately the golden amber with bourbon vanilla steps in to balance it, adding a warm, enigmatic twist to this scent inspired by Chopard’s opulent jewellery. Its sensual, quite potent and captivating notes offer a good sensory experience, though without reaching the magic of works like Ambre Fetiche or Ambre Sultan, which are on another level. Anyway, the amber in this composition fits like a precious stone, captivating the senses with its fascinating beauty, as its aromatic character evokes the intoxicating exoticism of the Middle East. Soft bourbon velvet vanilla completes the aroma, offering an addictive, textured and sophisticated signature. It works better in the heart and dry-down than in the opening, when the ingredients are on stage and the medium-sweet texture decisively captures the centre of attention.
