Amber Saffron by French Avenue

Amber Saffron – French Avenue is a fragrance I wore for the first time today since it was on my shelf, and the feeling was really very good. From the start you can sense a high-quality scent, with an elegant and well-crafted character that conveys sophistication without being excessive. The opening is intense and a bit strong, with a clear presence that stands out in the first few minutes. It is not a shy opening, it has strength and personality, but the interesting thing is that, after a short time, the perfume softens noticeably. That initial intensity gives way to a much rounder, warmer and more pleasant aroma, which adapts very well to the skin and becomes extremely easy to wear. Once settled, Amber Saffron shows its most elegant and balanced side. The amber accord brings warmth and depth, while saffron adds a sophisticated and slightly spicy touch that elevates the whole. The result is a comfortable, enveloping and easy-to-wear perfume, even in professional settings. Overall, my first experience with Amber Saffron was very satisfying. It is a fragrance with a powerful but well-controlled opening, which evolves into an elegant, smooth and very easy-to-enjoy scent, ideal for everyday wear. A perfume that smells excellent, works perfectly in a professional context and, without a doubt, invites you to keep using it frequently.

Since I saw there were no reviews yet, I decided to write the first one because this marvel just arrived today. I was very reluctant to buy it because I only saw it mentioned by an Arabian reviewer saying it was one of his favourite fragrances. I knew it wouldn’t be for me, but if you’re trying to have a unique collection, you need to have a rarity like this. Well, I think it’s a fragrance I had never smelled before, so I’m glad I bought it. I won’t talk about the presentation because it’s in another league, I had never seen anything like it, the packaging and the bottle are marvellous. The fragrance is intense, not a blind buy. A prominent saffron and an animalic oud, the opening smells like “stable” (to put it politely). In the dry-down this smell disappears and a leather appears that blends with the saffron, which makes it more “pleasant,” but it’s still a unique fragrance, nothing similar in my personal collection nor anything I’ve been able to try anywhere. 100% Arabian fragrance. With all due differences (obvious), it reminds me of Exclusif Tabac by Maison Alhambra: it’s a fragrance to wear with a lot of personality, prominent sillage, to say “here I am,” remember it’s a perfume extract, you apply it and the oil concentration left on the skin is more than noticeable. For elegant dress, totally cold climates and outdoors, anti-summer fragrance. I don’t find it unisex at all, I can’t see a woman wearing it. I think we can get an idea of its performance and behaviour. I’m delighted with it, it’s amazing. French Avenue is killing it, it makes you want to blind buy anything from their catalogue.

It is 100% Arabic. To put it mildly, it reminds me of Maison Alhambra’s Exclusif Tabac: it’s for people with strong personalities, leaving a powerful trail that shouts ‘I am here’. It is a perfume extract, and the concentration on the skin is noticeable. It’s ideal for elegant dressing, cold climates, and outdoor wear; totally not for summer. I don’t see it as unisex at all; I can’t imagine any woman wearing it. I am delighted; it’s a real treat. French Avenue is crushing it; it makes you want to buy anything they release without hesitation.
