Анна Каренина (Anna Karenina) by Новая Заря (The New Dawn) is a women's floral fragrance dating from 1975.
Composed by perfumer Ivan Orlyuk, it brings together radiant aldehydes and light-coloured blooms over a mellow musky and woody foundation.
At the top you find aldehydes, lily of the valley, lilac, gardenia and mandarin. The effect is fresh and green, with a clean, faintly powdery aldehydic character.
In the middle, rose and tuberose are joined by vanilla, patchouli and vetiver. The white floral and rose theme grows fuller yet keeps a sense of lightness.
Underneath, musk, sandalwood and synthetic civet provide the base. They lend mellow warmth with a very restrained animalic edge.
Taken together, the dominant accords are white floral, roses, musky, floral and fresh, backed by powdery, woody, aldehydic, animalic and green nuances. It has an average score of 4 out of 5 based on 10 ratings.
