Aoud Café by Mancera

Mancera’s Aoud Café is a marvel. The coffee note is executed perfectly, moving away from the gourmand genre by blending woods, sweetness, and flowers to create something rich and elegant—a little-known gem in the niche. I received it as a gift and, although the name suggests something like Amore Caffé, it was a great surprise: it’s different and has another purpose. Its evolution is praiseworthy. It deserves more recognition as an excellent work by Pierre Montale. Elegant, serious, and distinguished, I recommend it to anyone seeking something unique and sophisticated.

It smells like coffee candy with amber. After a few hours, it shifts to sweet notes I’ve never heard before; very different but exquisite. I bought it by mistake, thinking it was Amore Caffé, and was pleasantly surprised; it’s one of Pierre Montale’s best, without rose or violet, which is a relief for those wanting an aoud without them. I definitely recommend it 100%.

Another great classic from Pierre Montale, which truly deserves a place in niche perfumery without being so expensive or pretentious. Aoud Café is one of my favourites, boasting a delicious, very prominent coffee trail that adds warmth and a very pleasant olfactory complexity. It rounds off beautifully with the amber and woody notes, which neither leave you indifferent nor go unnoticed. Personally, it’s one of the best olfactory experiences I’ve had, surpassing more expensive and pompous brands. Highly recommended if you’re a coffee lover and want to attract attention with elegance and great subtlety.

I don’t know why this beautiful perfume isn’t mentioned on YouTube. I’m a girl and my boyfriend loves me wearing it in cold weather. The woody note stands out more with a creamy espresso coffee base. Simply beautiful for me as a girl.

It smells exactly like a type of sweet banana here in Colombia called ‘Coffee Delight’. I would like for the coffee to feel a bit stronger, but don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad, is it? In the end, it comes across a bit more fruity, which isn’t bad either. Longevity is leaning towards low.

It’s a coffee bonbon or cappuccino scent; it’s not the coffee I was expecting with an intense espresso smell, rather it’s more like an anise-flavoured latte or cappuccino. It’s a bit like Black Opium by YSL, but a bit simpler and less sweet. A rich scent, but if you’re looking for a natural, energising, and dark coffee smell; this isn’t it.

The dry down is top-notch, but the coffee note isn’t strong; I don’t detect it, whereas my wife does. On me, it smells fruity and sweet, but on her, it’s woody and attractive. The longevity is typical for Mancera.

It smells like a coffee sweetie. Here they sell coffee sweets with this exact scent, and when I smell the perfume, I feel an urge to eat them. If you want that scent, buy the sweets instead. It doesn’t last long, perhaps four hours, and doesn’t project much, but it smells lovely. I didn’t buy it because I wasn’t sure when to wear it. In my opinion, Mancera has better options, but taste is a matter of colour. What I do say is never buy a perfume from this house without testing it first. The scents are very particular and quite expensive. I can recommend Red Tobacco, Cedrat Boise, Hindu Kush and Instant Crush. From now on, test before buying to avoid wasting money.

I love it. I bought it for my husband, but I adore wearing it myself; it’s totally unisex. It’s so relaxing that I even wear it to sleep. It has a delicious coffee note; here you can truly taste it without it being sweet or overwhelming like a café con leche, but the downside is that it doesn’t last long, seeming more like a top note than a heart note. There’s also a warm spicy touch, but ultimately, I smell baby powder and talcum. The longevity on my skin is good, around eight hours. This combination seems delicious to me.

I didn’t enjoy the opening; it’s very fruity and citrusy, with bergamota being very prominent, and I don’t like it when paired with peach. Additionally, when the coffee note emerges, it feels somewhat incohesive. After an hour, without the acidic notes, the perfume becomes more wearable. I expected an intense coffee scent, but on me, the woods stood out more; the coffee is present but not up to the level of the wood. Given the opening, I don’t think it’s worth it. If you’re looking for a predominant coffee scent, it’s unisex and has good longevity, but overall, I didn’t like it. Overall: 6/10. Sillage: 6/10. Longevity: 3-4 hours.

The opening doesn’t work for me; it’s too fruity and the blend with coffee sounds off. Once it dries down, it smells like very sweet coffee, as a friend mentioned, reminiscent of a cappuccino.
