Attrape-Rêves by Louis Vuitton

An exquisite, very well-crafted perfume, but it carries the curse of resembling many fragrances: Coco Mademoiselle, Miss Dior 2012 and its variants, all with that rose-patchouli-musk and citrus DNA that put it on the map. Although it reminds me of those, it isn’t that similar; it is less musky and the citrus is replaced by the fruity acidity of lychee, which bathes the Turkish rose with patchouli, reinforcing the floral and feminine side with the peony and its pink nuance. It feels effervescent, perhaps due to the ginger and a background sweetness that begs to be cocoa (more like shea butter) or undeclared vanilla. Less earthy than Coco Mademoiselle and much less musky and citrusy than the Miss Diors (plus it lacks Dior’s sharp jasmine). It catches those who like that early 2000s DNA and those who don’t, thanks to its twist. You can tell the good hand of Jacques Cavallier and the quality components from LV. Although many fresh scents are moderate, this one makes itself felt in the right conditions. I think it works all year round except in extreme heat or winter. It will be a delight for many women and some men who don’t shy away from using what they like regardless of gender. A guilty pleasure for lovers of classic Chanel and reformulated Dior.

I know the perfumes people compare Attrape-Rêves to; sharing ‘rose’ doesn’t mean they are similar. In my opinion, they aren’t. It’s a Turkish rose with peony and cocoa; the patchouli is subtle, almost imperceptible on my skin (unlike Coco Mademoiselle, Mon Paris and Miss Dior where it is noticeable). If you like fruity roses with chocolate, it’s your option, although it is expensive. A similar vibe is given by Love by Chopard, and as it costs a third less than Louis Vuitton, I prefer it. Yes, it has a soft sillage but an extraordinary longevity of over ten hours.

On my skin, it highlights the spicy lychee side thanks to the ginger and that rich citrus, ideal for spring and summer. It lasts about eight hours on the skin and lingers on clothes. As it resembles Into the Night by Body & Works, I add creams and oils and it works perfectly. I enjoy the splendour of fresh, juicy lychee and feel very feminine. Although it reminds me of Miss Dior due to similar notes, I prefer Attrape-Rêves for that fruity and fresh side; the Miss Diors carry more patchouli.

Fresh and floral, with a sparkling lychee fruity opening over cheerful ginger. It has a soft sweetness, like raspberry, mixed with milky chocolate, always with flowers in the background. Good trail and pleasant for everyone; surely you’ll be praised. In the end, it smells like clean spring. It’s acceptable; it doesn’t jar me, but it’s reasonable. For the price, I might prefer a floral from Amouage or De Marly, but it depends on how it suits you.

A complete luxury: scent, bottle, and performance. A sweet, elegant floral where the lychee note shines with a touch of sugary sweetness. The trail and longevity are bomb; wherever you go, you leave a exquisite, fine trail. The bottle is super elegant and well-designed, from the cap to the sprayer. Worth every euro for 100% quality. If you’re thinking about it, buy it; you won’t regret it.

Luxurious! It evokes a pretty girl with money, dressed in lilac or pink, well-groomed. I’ll reserve it for my wedding; it’s perfect. Loaded with lychee and flowers—pink flowers! I was getting married on the beach and wanted something delicious, angelic, and elegant. I found it! It was love at first sniff. Delighted with the purchase.

I tested a sample alongside Montale’s Intense Café. The scent was very similar to La Nuit Tressor. That’s because Attrape-Rêves already shares many notes with LNT, but in a fresher, more floral version.

A super delicate and subtle fragrance. I could wear it as a fifteen-year-old girl as it is so soft. I see it more for daytime use outdoors.
