Share what you noticed: opening, drydown, sillage and the moments when it works for you.
I was expecting a darker, more animalic musk, I have to say it’s good… I’ve had compliments. The opening smells a bit like shaving cream 🪒 It’s fresh and sweet without being cloying… It’s easy to like and for the price an excellent option. It’s masculine and perfect if you’re going to sweat.
Minimal longevity, barely any sillage. Very soft but very pleasant scent. It has nothing to do with Jovan’s other older fragrances. It only shares with them the brand and the design of the box and bottle. As this Black Musk is the most recent in the range, it is the only men’s one that is easy to find, at least in Spain, in traditional high-street perfumeries, always at prices around 10 euros or less. I wouldn’t pay more for this. It is a very simple scent, masculine but never invasive, kind on skin and soft. Predominant powdery notes. Recommendable on clothes or for layering with other stronger fragrances (although it’s a bit strange, I’ve tried it with Tabac and both go very well together). A cologne that won’t bother anyone but won’t catch anyone’s attention either. Made to reapply almost immediately and for personal enjoyment, almost like a deodorant/body mist. Among Jovans I will always stick with SexAppeal, retro and vintage if ever there was one, with as many detractors as nostalgic lovers. This Black Musk clearly seems to be the fragrance that reflects the decline of this brand, which had great moments of glory and popularity four decades ago.
While Jovan’s intriguing and classic Musk and especially the clean and pleasant White Musk are scents I like, Black Musk is such a generic smell that it disappointed me. It’s not that it’s bad, it’s that there are many perfumes that are perceived similarly in many places. I prefer White Musk or even the old Musk for its originality
Very soft fragrance, a mistake, for me with no sillage and a suffocating tone, despite short duration. It puts me in a state of irritability….
It doesn’t have at all the longevity of its big brother “Jovan Musk”. It lasts super short and has almost no sillage

Short lasting with minimal sillage, though the scent is soft and pleasant. It has nothing to do with Jovan’s old fragrances; it only shares the brand and bottle design. As the latest in the range, it’s the only men’s one easily found in physical perfumeries in Spain, always under €10. I wouldn’t pay more for this. It’s a simple, masculine aroma that doesn’t invade, wearing nicely on skin with predominant talc-like notes. Recommended for clothes or layering (tested with Tabac and it works well). It doesn’t bother anyone but doesn’t draw attention either. Made for frequent reapplication, almost like a deodorant. Of the Jovans, I always stick with SexAppeal, retro and vintage. Although I like classic Musk and Jovan’s White Musk, the Black Musk smells so generic that it disappoints. It’s not bad; it’s just that many perfumes smell the same in many places. I prefer the White or the old Musk for their originality.
A very soft fragrance with no sillage and a suffocating tone despite the short longevity. It makes me feel irritable.
It doesn’t have the longevity of its brother, ‘Jovan Musk’. It lasts super short and has almost no sillage.
