Black Vanilla by Mancera

Black Vanilla stands out for its elegance with an excellent and sober vanilla, nothing cloying. It starts with a clean and fruity opening, covering the floral heart (which goes unnoticed unless you talc it a bit) and manifests in the velvety base with an interesting musk. It will serve you for 7/8 hours: projects to one metre for the first hour, to 50cm the next, and then to 15cm. I consider it totally unisex, ideal for cool or cold weather, thanks to that vanilla with a discreet flower that avoids the typical sweetness. I always recommend testing niche on skin before buying.

Pure elegance! A clean, sophisticated scent with a slight talciness, well-balanced for any season, though I’d wear it in winter. It’s imposing for making a great first impression, not playful, more for special occasions than daily wear. I love it; it’s my first Mancera. I chose it over Instant Crush and Rosses Vanille because this screamed elegance from the start. Clean, floral, and soapy opening, but the dry down is a delicious vanilla.

Flowers and more flowers; the vanilla is barely noticeable. It’s a 100% feminine perfume.

Currently trying a decant and I’ve loved it. I was a bit bored with sweet scents and was craving a vanilla. What a lovely aroma, plus you can tell the violet, a flower I adore. I felt it similar to La nuit tresor a la folie, but I like this one more for being semi-talc-like. Very sexy-romantic. Fantastic longevity, not strident; the scent lasts until the bath. I will definitely get the bottle.

Not a gourmand vanilla, but elegant, clean, and slightly talcy with a subtle violet and that fresh touch from the fruits. I love it; I’m finding I like Mancera perfumes more and more.

Can you imagine mixing the powdery aspect of Chanel No. 5 with the cookie-drydown of Chocolate Greedy? That’s what you have here. The opening is dense, elegant, and super feminine with a very present peach. The drydown is another world: that feeling of pastry, vanilla with something smoky and sandy that reminds of a cookie, accompanied by a very vivid rose. It’s interesting, seems familiar but gives a lovely twist. In my opinion, it’s a strictly feminine fragrance.

I didn’t like it and it’s a pity, I wanted it to be a yes. In my search for a 100% vanilla and sweet fragrance (like the Bare Vanilla from Victoria’s Secret but in perfume), I found this. They recommended it to me on Facebook and I ordered it blindly. It smells of vanilla in the bottle, but on the skin, as it dries down, it is soapy and talc-like, a lot. It smells too much like baby wipes. I gave it several chances and every time I ended up feeling nauseous and washing myself. It’s not a bad fragrance, it’s well-made and has good performance, surely many will like it, but definitely soap and talc scents are not for me. A pity, it will have to leave my collection.

The best and most redeeming quality of Mancera: the little vanilla in this fragrance is divine and the ingredients demonstrate excellent quality. Although they categorise it as ‘unisex’, I feel it is much more feminine, but I still love it ♥

Lately, I’ve been coming across incredible fragrances, and this is one of the best: a vanilla that opens up super creamy, sweet, with a slightly oily touch. It’s so warm and embracing that I detect notes of coconut, peach, and violets on the skin, wrapping me up like a lovely dream. As it dries down, it gains a soapy white musk and a masculine touch which, on me, is very sexy. It has moderate sillage, nothing intrusive, and lasts about seven hours. I bought the 60ml because the larger size wasn’t available, but I’m going to look for it as it hasn’t worn out on me yet. It’s perfect for bathing and hugging whoever you want.❤️

It’s a very rich perfume of good quality and longevity. However, I see it as more for women; on a woman, it would be exquisite. For me, the vanilla and peach dominate, a creamy and sweet fragrance. Try it before buying.
