  • Terribly overpriced. A pleasant smell, very generic; perfume houses must have dozens of formulas of this type kept in drawers at the disposal of whichever flanker the brand chooses that month. For this perfume to cost 130 euros should make us reflect on this hobby and its drift.

  • luis_elixir

And here is where I stand before the absurd drift in prices… Designer brands labelling with niche prices, new niche brands with no baggage asking for 300 euros for their first creations, yes, claiming that the creative visualises the formulas during meditative trances; the con is mild, though there will always be some fool to bite. Regarding the vice of demanding virtue for not giving, they will know.

  • I bought it a few days ago taking advantage of a deal on the 50ml format… honestly, at today’s web prices in those outrageous tones, I would never have bought it blind… Absolutely novel… it follows the The Scent saga, doesn’t stray too much, you can detect the Maninka even though it’s not declared, a touch of spicy velvet lavender and sweetness… more mature? Well, honestly, I don’t know… Another fragrance with the Elixir label, which is so fashionable today and honestly adds nothing new, it smells like countless others… and if it smells good and people like it and I’ll use it, but in the end it’s a case of neither here nor there. And at least on my skin with regular performance, neither much nor little, that said, at a price that seems laughable given what’s going on out there. Nothing new on the horizon.

  • First tried at Sephora a few hours ago… Seeing the notes, I expected something different. It starts very sweet and potent, reminding me of a certain perfume but I couldn’t place which one. After an hour or so, it calms down and the scent evolves for the better; honestly, I liked it, especially the dry down. Performance is quite good… I get the feeling it’s for younger people and nightwear, I’ll keep testing it…

It has a distinctive aroma. When I first sprayed it, it seemed strange to me because it smells somewhat sweet; yes, you can detect that pepper note that gives it a slight spicy or spiced touch, along with lavender and sandalwood. It’s hard to explain the scent of this eau de parfum; I find it very curious. Very long-lasting, it’s quite strong.

  • Daniipntr

Worn dry. A very different aroma to what we usually smell in designer perfumes, with a sweetness that I can’t quite define but smells good. That said, it feels very feminine to me, that’s my first impression upon smelling it; I love sweet and unisex perfumes, but this leans more towards the feminine side. Its longevity seems very good because out of all the ones I sprayed, this is the one that still smells the strongest. It smells rich, but it’s not for me.

  • Strong opening with a penetrating scent, between sweet and bitter, like a sweet chilli sauce. After a while, it settles down and the floral notes of lavender emerge. This scent lingers in the background while the sandalwood and a vanilla tone come out towards the end. I absolutely love it; I tried it in-store, bought it, and I like it more every time I wear it. It lasts all day without any issues.

  • What a pity that I, a super fan of this line and its patented Maninka note (something fruity with leather), didn’t like this Elixir at all. I wish I did, but I simply can’t tolerate the chili note, especially when paired with something sweet. Even though Maninka isn’t declared, the DNA of the line is here, even more so than in Magnetic (the flanker that strays the most). I haven’t thrown it away; I gifted it to my partner so it could stay in my collection, but I’ll never use it myself. For him, it’s one of the perfumes he praises the most, and its performance is the best in the entire line, easily lasting 8 to 10 hours. I wish the others lasted half as long, but that’s the world of perfumery; there are things our noses simply won’t tolerate, no way around it. I highly recommend it to everyone who has tried it, as they find it very sexy and long-lasting. Unfortunately, my nose and stomach don’t tolerate it; once again, what luck I have.

  • After trying it thoroughly, I can confirm it is one of the best designer launches in recent years. An elegant fruity scent, super pleasant, not overpowering, and it lasts a long time; everyone will like it. I see it as perfect for the evening, whether for casual nights out, something more formal, or dates, very versatile in that regard. I’d reserve it for cool or cold climates as it becomes more noticeable, but it also works brilliantly on cool summer evenings without being oppressive. I was very surprised by Hugo Boss’s recent releases; both Bottled Elixir and this one are excellent.

This perfume is a blend; it’s the Hugo Boss Parfum with sweetness, seems like red fruits or something similar. In the dry-down it’s talc-like, where woods predominate.

  • Mr. Baskerville

For the youth. It’s not one I would wear myself, but I recognise it’s a well-made and executed fragrance. Indeed, it has an opening with a recognisable red chilli scent, although accompanied by a sweetness they are keen to add nowadays. True that the sandalwood and lavender make good company and aren’t of poor quality; however, that glazed candy sweetness, though measured, overwhelms and disgusts me. I see it as brilliant for young people and certainly it has good projection and longevity, making it a good competitor for sweet nights, especially in cool or fresh seasons. The price for what it offers isn’t bad at all, though it’s not cheap either. Overall, it’s an option to consider for young people.

  • Casares85

A perfume that stands out for being a bit of a beast mode. Heavy and long-lasting. A very seductive aroma. Perfect to wear with a shirt on cool or mild days. Although the note isn’t listed, it has some vanilla. The dry-down is wonderful. Totally recommended.

  • fran14fran

A delightful perfume, serious yet youthful. It opens with a bit of spice and then reveals the sweetness of the sandalwood with the power of the lavender that floods wherever you go. The trail is more than generous and the longevity hovers around 6 to 8 hours. My favourite from Hugo Boss alongside Boss Bottled Elixir for sure, a 10/10.

  • Three sprays: jugular, jugular, nape. It explodes. Spicy, chilli, pepper, slightly peppery, red, fire, heat, lavender, more heat. It floods the room. Bam, bam, bam. The trail is yours; you’re taking forbidden steps. Bam, bam, bam. It calms down (after three hours, up to seven). That heat and those rough blows disappear. Everything combines in a calmer, softer way. It seems to smell more of lavender, even incense. Notes of burnt wood, agarwood, and sandalwood. The trail is behind you; you’re sitting at the bar or a high table sharing stories. It settles (from the seventh to the ninth hour, if on clothes, let’s not even talk about that). There’s no more fire, just a faint touch of lavender, so faint you barely notice it because only the sandalwood remains accompanying you. This perfume is that something that reminds you of cold months: the brazier, chestnuts, mantecados, warm clothing. Very cosy with that ‘oh, how good it is, so warm’ feeling, but with a cheeky point that makes you radiate a ‘watch out, I’m a bad boy’. Youth/adult fragrance: twenty-five to forty and very few. It’s a perfume you wouldn’t wear daily under any circumstances. You wouldn’t put it on for lunch or dinner; this is for standing out, for going out for drinks and saying ‘here I am, I’ll eat the world’. Outside these zones, it suffocates and envelops too much. In summary: you’ll stand out, give presence, and in the end, when it fades, it will accompany you back home if you’re lucky. Later update: they’ve reformulated it; it doesn’t even zing or last as long anymore, it’s the same but slightly sweeter. A pity.

  • Darío Zorrilla

A fragrance whose scent made my friend say: ‘this smells like spicy Doritos’, and he was right; that red chilli reminds one of the snacks. Beyond that, there’s a prominent and clean lavender on top of the chilli’s sweetness; the sandalwood isn’t the main character here, it just makes the perfume rounder. In short, an unseen aroma in designer perfumery with barely any evolution.

  • Gervinmorales1

In my opinion, it’s basically a simple aromatic woody fragrance… sandalwood stands out in the base with a refreshing and slightly sweet sensation. I would swap the fresh spicy accord for a warm one; it’s softer and more refreshing than dark and warm. The quality is good, suitable for cold climates, autumn, or winter. The performance is very strong and projects well; it lasted all day on my skin, and two sprays on blotting paper were noticeable for over 6 hours at a metre. Rating 8.5/10 for performance and 7/10 overall. I think it’s overwhelming and boring… I don’t feel I’d miss using it often, maybe a maximum of 3 or 4 times a year. It’s good quality with good performance, but I suggest trying it.

  • The Scent Elixir for Him is a spiced, talc-like, and woody fragrance. The opening smells of sweet pepper, and I’m almost certain it contains benzyl acetate, even if it’s not listed. The lavender adds freshness that softens the spices, while the sandalwood base gives it a sensual charm. It’s an attractive and pleasant scent, not as sweet as the Magnetic version. It’s ideal for cool days, evenings, autumn, and winter, and even in the office because it’s not invasive. It has excellent longevity, lasting over 10 hours. I’ve liked it, although I already cover these occasions with other good fragrances and have two more from the line I’ll use more. Anyway, I recommend trying it; young and middle-aged people will surely like it.

  • Alberto Vargas

Incredible experience; it’s a collar-breaker fragrance. The opening can be overwhelming, but the dry-down is very well executed. Yes, it is expensive, but I think at that price point I’d opt for something else. Don’t go in with high expectations; let it enchant you and do its magic.

  • I was at Liverpool and they let me try it; I’d never really paid attention to Hugo Boss until this one blew me away. The opening is a bit of a shocker, but after a while, oh my, it transforms into something delicious and unique. It keeps that spicy edge but isn’t aggressive anymore, turning sweet with exquisite lavender and a sandalwood that smells like fine cinnamon to me. It’s an absolute beast; I couldn’t stop sniffing my arm and bought another bottle, although the price is ridiculously high.

  • AnthonyClassDJ

I’ll be honest and clear: without a doubt the best, long-lasting and original from Boss. Goodness me if this lasts, and on clothes not even after washing! It’s elegant and personal; I recommend trying it in a perfumery. It smells like a tough guy in a Men! with toothpaste, sexy and elegant; I don’t see this perfume on a 19-year-old. Let it dry on the skin and it does magic. It has given me many compliments, yes, from women over 30. It’s the authentic Elixir, not the ones who now put the name there for marketing and don’t last a jot. For me, synonymous with Elixir is power or at least durability. PS: This fragrance reminds me of: NONE OF THE ONES FRAGRANTICA TELLS YOU ABOUT.

  • Pplacchetta

Incredible, I tried it in the shop today and I want to have it. I love its scent; it doesn’t resemble anything I’ve smelled before, evoking sensuality and masculinity. It doesn’t have much evolution, but I think that gives it an additional charm, since the scent from the start is magnificent.

  • I never paid attention to Hugo Boss fragrances, but everything changed with the Elixir. From the very first moment it surprised me with a bold and spicy opening thanks to the chilli, which adds warmth and vibrant energy. The lavender in the heart balances that intensity with a clean and sophisticated touch that evokes confidence. What won me over was the sandalwood base: creamy, enveloping and deeply masculine, leaving a trail that accompanies the whole day without being invasive. The Elixir is not just a fragrance, it’s a statement. It projects character, strength and elegance, making it a proper men’s perfume. This experience has led me to reconsider the entire Hugo Boss line. Without a doubt, it’s for those who want to stand out without effort, ideal for the modern man seeking a unique olfactory signature.

  • The Scent Elixir is a marvel of red fruits with chilli that gives a youthful and refreshing sensation, but as it dries down it changes and becomes more mature and serious, where the lavender and sandalwood take the lead. I’m surprised it isn’t compared with Guilty Eau de Parfum, because in that dry down it’s very similar: lavender, chilli and slightly unsweetened sandalwood, sumptuously elegant. Performance is well above average with good projection and versatility; for me it’s another Boss gem. By the way, €64 for the 100ml bottle in a famous chain… it doesn’t seem like the disaster they talk about regarding the price.

  • Good perfume, smells nice and is one of the best from Hugo Boss, but for me it’s extremely heavy. Sometimes I apply it in the room and when I return home it still smells hours later. Also, if you overapply it, it gives me a headache; it’s overwhelming and even if you try to get rid of it, you can’t. In short, it smells exquisite and has extremely high longevity and projection, but you must not overapply it.

  • It’s simply delicious; it generates few compliments because it stands apart from the usual. In a week of use, only today did a colleague say to me: ‘You smell so good, Javi, what are you wearing? Which one is that?’

  • I just bought it after trying it at a Selfridges and I loved it. I took the 100ml bottle and when I applied it… the scent is a 10. I notice it’s fruity (the chilli is a vegetable). It smells delicious. I don’t know, I notice it’s fresh; it’s supposed to be for cold climates but it has that little fresh spicy touch. The dry down is dense but I see it as more versatile than I thought. Only for formal wear, nothing informal. The time I tried it, it lasted a long time with great projection. The bottle is elegant with its transparent red glass. Excellent price for this concentration (€61 for 100ml). I hope to use it more these days… what a wonderful perfume, goodness me. My notes: Scent 10, Longevity 8, Projection 8, Presentation 7, Price 9. Total: 8.4.

  • Excellent perfume that pays homage to almost every designer. The Elixir starts spicy and warm, then dries down to deep lavender and sandalwood that lingers over time and is a delight. Not everything has to be vanilla. It’s striking, different, and very masculine for autumn, winter, and fresh spring. It lasts perfectly perceptible for 7 or 8 hours; you can notice it in rooms and corridors. It doesn’t overwhelm; in fact, it invites closeness. I wear it in the office with good comments, though I reserve it for outside work: dates, dinners, nights out. It demands good dressing. It clings to clothes for days; if it falls on a jumper, it soaks through the wardrobe until the garment is washed. Great aroma that everyone likes and turns heads. Very yielding short spray. All virtues, worth the money. I hope it lasts me 3 or 4 winters.

  • jorgeluiscabani

Pleasant aroma. The opening is spicy and burns the nose a little; if you like chilli, you’ll love it. Then it moves to lavender, which is very agreeable. I think it’s for older men who want to show spirit, presence, and make themselves noticed.

  • If you like Tom Ford’s Noir Extreme, this is its improved version: it lasts longer and projects better. To me, it feels very dense and not very versatile; I don’t wear it the same way I do my TF, which I take to the coast where I live. I understand the hype; perhaps in temperate climates it would be perfect. The longevity and projection are controlled, making it ideal for fragrances with body.

  • I love it; it seems super sexy and addictive, one of those you can’t stop smelling. Very masculine and sensual, certainly designed to triumph on a date. I love the spicy touch the chilli gives it; I also detect something fruity (I’m not quite sure what) and the sandalwood 🤤. It has an immense trail and longevity; it can even become overwhelming. That’s why I see it for Autumn and Winter, and especially for the evening. Be careful with sprays during the day!

  • DanielInvest

Boss The Scent Elixir is a fragrance that stands out and usually receives compliments. Its spicy and warm opening evolves into a very subtle lavender, before settling into a sweet, sensual and addictive base. It’s not a scent for everyday use, and certainly not in warm environments or with many people nearby, as it can become overwhelming. It’s ideal for dates or night outs, creating a seductive, mysterious and captivating atmosphere. If you want to win at a first date, this is definitely your perfume.

  • The opening is the best vanilla I’ve ever smelled (having smelled a staggering amount of perfumes). For a long time, no perfume could make me smile. Unfortunately, it moves on to something else, but this vanilla remains and is spectacular. It’s a combination of vanilla and bell pepper, sexy and distinct. I need this in my collection.

  • A very easy-to-please fragrance, with a spicy aromatic opening that is quickly softened by a lavender and a sweet woody touch. Although Maninka isn’t listed, it’s there giving that sweet and sour twist. Ideal for Autumn and Winter and more focused for evenings and nights. Longevity and projection are very good, and the evolution is pleasing. I could even wear it to the office one day, but I don’t see it as a daily wear.

  • Very rich, but just another one of the crowd, very similar to Invictus V. Elixir and a bit to Phantom Parfum.

  • The truth is that the battle between the sandalwood and the chilli makes this fragrance very peculiar; I’m surprised how the combination of notes makes it both powdery and spicy at the same time. I see it as quite versatile, suitable for day or night or any occasion.

  • The Scent Elixir feels like an overly aggressive composition to me. The sweetness is so dense and omnipresent that it quickly overwhelms the senses. While I understand the ‘Elixir’ line aims for potency, the execution here seems unbalanced; it’s a sugary bomb that never lets up and starts feeling artificial in its intensity. There’s a note I can’t identify that really grates on me. It’s the perfect example that ‘more longevity and more projection’ doesn’t always mean better for my personal taste. I keep it on the shelf just as a reminder of where my limit lies: this is the path I don’t want my usual fragrances to follow.

  • Initial impressions after testing it properly: I was so fascinated by both the scent and the beautiful bottle. It’s one of those warm-spicy perfumes that I really identify with. Reading that it has chilli in the opening makes you expect something very spicy, but I didn’t find it so. Instead, it’s a very rich opening with a chilli that is slightly spicy, sweet and velvety. The heart is dominated by a very interesting lavender that gives the perfume an elegant and masculine tone. To this is added what I believe are sweet, slightly fruity tones that make me think it probably also contains the famous maninka note so prominent in other perfumes from the line. The dry down was simply delicious, with a creamy and cosy sandalwood that I found exquisite. Longevity and projection are very good: it lasts perfectly for 7-8 hours without issue, and right on the skin until the next day. If it lingers on clothes until you wash them. It’s a perfume eminently for cold seasons. I think for men over 30 and in more or less formal situations is where it shines the most. It has presence, is elegant, masculine and modern. Regarding price, I think if it’s in the range of 60-65 euros for 100ml, it’s worth it. Anything more would seem a bit overpriced. A very good launch. I really liked it.

  • Absolutely brutal, especially at first spray. Although it lists pepper, lavender and sandalwood, to me it smells like something else: an aggressive vetiver-like note I can’t quite identify (others say it’s maninka). As it dries down, it really improves; the intensity settles and the sandalwood comes through. It’s a masculine, slightly wild and woody scent; it doesn’t win you over instantly but eventually hooks you. For those with similar tastes. Great longevity.
