About Charred Wood
Charred Wood: Dark, Smoky and Marine from INSENF
Charred Wood is the new oriental woody release from INSENF, launched in 2026. Intended for both women and men, it was created by perfumer Christian Provenzano and stands out for its combination of burnt timber, sea salt, and resinous depth.
The fragrance arrives with a clear identity: smoke is not just an accent but the main character. Around it, INSENF builds a composition that feels both rugged and refined.
At the start, black pepper, sea salt, chestnut, and smoke create an opening that crackles like a beach bonfire. There is a bracing contrast between heat and saline air.
The heart unfolds with fermented tea, clove leaf, incense, sea algae, myrrh, and resin. This middle stage is dense and smoky, offering a balsamic smoothness behind the flame.
The foundation draws on patchouli, charcoal, vetiver, hinoki cypress, and amber. It gives the perfume a long, earthy tail with just enough resinous sweetness.
Amber, woody, warm spicy, aromatic, balsamic, smoky, fresh spicy, marine, patchouli, and earthy accords shape the fragrance.
Although it is a recent launch, Charred Wood already holds a perfect 5.0 score from one rating.
Expect a bold, atmospheric scent that changes as it settles, never losing its smoky core.
Charred Wood will suit anyone who enjoys bold unisex perfumes with a dark, smoky edge. It is also a good match for collectors of modern woody orientals and for those who like fragrances with a strong story.
Charred Wood succeeds in making smoke feel wearable. Christian Provenzano has shaped a perfume that is at once wild and polished, with a base of charcoal, vetiver, and amber that lingers for hours. A memorable launch from INSENF.
