Cosmic Pepper by Mancera

There are contradictory opinions, and it is true that everything is subjective. To keep it brief: although it opens fresh with pink pepper nuances, it bears no relation to Versace Pour Homme nor AHS; it feels more synthetic. The surprise comes during the dry down, where it gets closer to Versace Eros. It sits between the classic EDT and Flame nuances, but with a Mancera style. It retains the good longevity typical of the house. Try it on your skin.

I see no relation to Allure; I do not know why they compare them; this resembles La Nuit De L Homme more. It has nothing fantastic about it; I cannot find a time to use it. I prefer Chanel or Versace, which do not resemble each other in my opinion.

What is similar to Chanel Allure Eau Extrême? Yes, it is similar, but with better quality, greater longevity, and a better price, at least in my country where Mancera is cheaper than any Chanel.

Buy blind with high expectations of finding a substitute for Allure Homme Sport Extreme that lasts decently, as that one lasts only 1.5 hours. What did I find? An opening with a sharp lemon and lots of pink pepper. The opening is not bad, but I prefer Chanel’s tangerine to this lemon. The pepper is excellent. However, after a few minutes, a facet appears that I hate completely, and I ended up with Instant Crush: a very sweet flower, exactly like the one in Instant, too loud, sugary, and feminine. That facet fades after an hour, with the musk prevailing. The pepper drops from the start but remains for five hours. It ends up being a mix of the three facets that rise or fall, but always present, with the lemon only for a few minutes. Scent 7/10 if not for the feminine touch; perhaps it would be a 9.5. Here, the Chanel Allure Sport line takes the crown. Very good longevity, over eight hours. Very good projection, close to three hours. Moderate to high trail, without being intrusive. Very versatile. Conclusion: good, and that’s it, but I feel it is a pity how close it came to being excellent… It fell off a cliff due to the feminine touch.

I usually do not write simplistic reviews giving references because art, in perfumery, deals with inspirations; a good fragrance can be inspired by others, and this is the case. Inspired by… I appreciate much similarity and inspiration to Chanel Allure HS Extreme, one of my signature scents for over five years; of course, I love it and it brings me nostalgia as it was my father’s first gift, and we shared it until today. It also reminds me of the dry down of another one I use a lot for the gym due to its simplicity and very wearable freshness: Versace Pour Homme. Nothing new but very good. Cosmic Pepper from the opening to the dry down has the pepper-aromatic combo of Chanel, but here I find a more pronounced citrus note and a less powdery, less mature, more youthful and fresh musk treatment, turning into Versace at the dry down. It is a winner, rich, round, and wearable 4×4 for any occasion. In between: it is not as elegant as Allure nor as fleeting as Versace, but if you know both, it might not evoke anything new for you, but you will like it for sure.

I have at least three fragrances in my collection very similar to this line, but Mancera knows how to balance things to stand out from the crowd and justify its price; it’s a DELIGHT.

This perfume has left me a bit crazy because I notice a mix of two perfumes I have used all my life. In the opening, the foreground is the citrus of Allure Homme Sport, and as it progresses, a dry down very similar to La Nuit de l’Homme, although compared to it, it is less intense or less sharp. It could be a valid alternative for those who like La Nuit, as being less dark makes it much more versatile. Its scent is suitable for the day, but interesting enough for the night, and although it is not fresh, the citrus opening saves it even in summer. I have only worn one spray on my wrist, so I have no idea about the performance, but knowing that Montale is generous and La Nuit is long-lasting, that proposal is a solid alternative for those who enjoy that scent. I myself am considering buying it. Best regards.

Smells great, very similar to Chanel’s Allure Sport, but with the same flaw: it doesn’t last long. To me, it leans more towards pepper, though overall it’s very good.
