  Intoxicating quantities of tonka, blackberry, watermelon, and amberwood. This concept isn’t for me. It takes a long time to dry down and remains strident. Perhaps it would appeal in the men’s section.

  A very masculine fragrance: it opens with a fruity-floral accord of violet and jasmine, like a dusted bouquet, followed by a soft citrus base that isn’t blood orange. After ten minutes, the spiced saffron from the original base turns distinctly masculine, dominated by a strong animalic leather reminiscent of a Tom Ford jacket, which drowns out everything. The metallic mineral notes linger in the background. I wouldn’t recommend this blindly; if you love leather, it could suit a man with a mysterious, sophisticated aura. It has significant projection and can be overwhelming in heat, making it better suited for cool evenings or autumn and winter. It has personality and isn’t for everyone.

  Mixing Red Temptation and Platinum Sky yields a scent reminiscent of Deep Temptation.

  It leaves me torn. As a flanker of Zara’s Red Temptation—which is itself a clone of Baccarat Rouge—the resemblance is undeniable, thanks to that praline and blood orange sweetness. However, they’ve added jasmine and violet with dark, animalic leather or suede notes that lend an air of mystery. Ultimately, the result isn’t optimal; it smells too much like the original Red Temptation and becomes tiring over time. It’s neither interesting nor coherent, bordering on confusing.
