Dior Addict Eau de Parfum by Dior is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2012, this composition was created by François Demachy. The top notes reveal mandarin, silk tree flower (Constantinople acacia) and orange blossom; the floral heart unfolds with night-blooming jasmine and Bulgarian rose (Damask rose from Bulgaria); while the base notes settle with vanilla, tonka bean and sandalwood.

  • I have not been able to find another bottle of the original version; it seems the earth has swallowed them; online they show you the photo of the original but then they send you this. I say this because it is exactly what happened to me, and even though I called to confirm it. This, as I already said in another review, is very similar to the original but not as strong or deep as they say here; better bread than no bread at all. I think this version falls short on days as cold as today, perhaps it would work much better in spring. For those who find Addict too much, I think this will work great for them, a pity they included tangerine, if they had used lemon perhaps it could remind me more of Trouble, in any case they are on the same line. On the other hand, I do not think it carries only these notes, I can perceive tonka bean and something of incense, but very subtle. Edit: Well, I have been wearing the perfume on my wrist for quite a few hours now, and as a good consumer of the original Addict for many years, I can say this is practically identical, perhaps with a bit less intensity, which I cannot confirm with certainty on a freezing day like today. The notes listed certainly are not, perhaps they added a bit more tangerine to the top, that’s being too subtle. I think I underestimated it, as often happens with us with reformulations, but to my nose at this moment there is no difference in the fragrance.

  • Today is a tropical rainy day in my country… and I wanted to wear this perfume… I applied a little and I can say it feels like a very thick and luxurious vanilla, plus soft flower petals and a resinous hint at the base; it does not make me feel overwhelmed, rather the effect is to feel sweet, elegant, and distinguished. And what this perfume evokes for me: it is like a delicious black tea with vanilla and a pinch of brown sugar… very stimulating… I love it!!!… I think I have already become addicted!!! The best thing is that its trail pleases everyone, young and adult; every time I use it I like it more!!!

  • A sweet, sensual, and intense perfume, very intense, reminding me of autumn and winter. You will not go unnoticed when you wear it. As its name indicates, it is totally addictive and, sincerely, no matter how much I have searched, I have not found any perfume to put aside this wonder. Highly recommended for vanilla lovers, although I would also invite any demanding nose to try it.

The Dior Addict Eau de Parfum seems elegant to me (like almost all the Dior ones I have tried) and very interesting in its changes. At first, I detect a green floral note, I suppose it is the acacia. Then comes the tangerine, almost immediately, very sparkling and cheerful. After that, the fragrance transforms into something darker, heavier (but not in a bad way), and sweet: it must be the famous night-blooming cereus. Finally, there is the vanilla, which although it is a top note, I perceive it almost from the start, as if it were wrapping the whole ensemble. It is a strong, intense, and elegant vanilla. The longevity and trail are very good. I think it is more suitable for winter. It is not really my style, but I recognise it is an excellent perfume.

  • It is my essence: sparkling, captivating, persistent, unforgettable, super feminine, and with total control. It is not missing from my wardrobe, alongside other similar ones, but it is THE ONLY ONE. Just for real women. I wear it in winter and in summer because, in the end, it is me and I will always be me.

I adore it. I have to admit that among the oriental scents, this is my favourite. I cried when I finished the Nu by YSL, and this is its youthful version… so rich, so rich.

  • I was gifted this for Mother’s Day. Of course, when giving a gift, you need to know the person well. It is an exquisite scent; if it plays with your personality, it looks incredible on you. A magical fragrance for women of all ages. The trail and longevity are magnificent; perhaps the longest-lasting one I have used. I love it more and more each time. This new version is lovely, sweet, warm, and cosy. Very feminine and sexy. Men notice and they love it. 100% recommended.

  • What a delight! It intoxicates the senses and leaves a lasting impression. I absolutely adore it and will be buying it for winter. You can really tell the night-blooming cereus with vanilla, and on my skin it transforms into a liqueur that intoxicates me with pleasure and sensuality.

  • Well… what can you do?… it’s the closest thing I know (for now) to the original Dior Addict, which is undoubtedly better in aroma, projection, sillage and, above all, in fixation. This one, in general, is a bit weaker, as if Dior Addict had lost its voice… although in essence we know that seductive, warm, deep and melodious voice is there. It slightly bothers me that they have replaced the density and olfactory appeal of the berries with mandarin and stripped it of floral potency (which in my opinion makes it lighter and contradictory to an “Eau de Parfum” version)… even the vanilla is more subtle. What saves the day are the night-blooming cereus and tonka bean, which still feel present. In general, I like it (for its resemblance to the original) and I might buy a bottle or two to use occasionally as a substitute for the previous one, which is no longer available.

  • Exquisitely feminine fragrance. On my skin, the night-blooming cereus and vanilla predominate. Unfortunately, I haven’t managed to try the original version, but I love this one. Good projection and fixation, as befits a Dior.

  • Night-blooming cereus and vanilla wonderfully cushioned in tonka bean. Absolutely unisex in my opinion. On me, the longevity and projection are beastly. I understand they have reformulated it; I hope it maintains these qualities. I haven’t smelled a night-blooming cereus as prominent in any other perfume as in this one. Every time I use it, I close my eyes and immerse myself in a warm summer night in the park at my home when I had that plant and its flowers were intoxicating every night… a pleasure of memories. Luckily I still have my bottle almost full from the 2012 version.

  • A proper perfume; I love it. The night-blooming cereus and vanilla make a sublime combination. It lasts for hours and hours, it’s sensual and addictive. For women with personality and self-confidence.

  • A delightful scent; I’ve tried it several times and never bought it, I don’t know why. I’m going to buy it as soon as possible!

  • Excellent perfume; the vanilla is very noticeable and it lasts for ages, sticking to the skin and clothes for hours. I smelled the original Addict and honestly prefer this one; it’s super rich and worth the price. Mine has finished and I’ll buy another as soon as I can.

  • Absolutely delicious and I’m already running out of words; it’s fabulous. Sweet and sensual, it starts with cinnamon blending into the vanilla. An aroma that lingers on the skin for hours and is totally addictive.

  • charlotinable

Intoxikatingly toxic, addictive and sensual. An exquisite smoky vanilla wraps everything in a beastly longevity that transports you to a mystical orient. One of my absolute favourites, super unisex. It evokes a distant temple with thousands of sweet and spiced incense sticks. It had to be from Dior, with all its weight and legacy.

  • Arrived halfway through and I’m still smelling of custard. If you like vanilla, this is your perfume; I don’t care if it ruins that sweet vibe.

  • Laila Vivianne

It’s a very rich perfume, I like to wear it from time to time but it’s not my personal scent. The good thing is that it fixes a lot; the scent lasts hours and hours and even on clothes after washing.

  • This perfume is truly addictive, it lives up to its name. I’m surprised voters didn’t award more points to the orange blossom, as it’s very noticeable to me. Definitely the base is vanilla and how delicious! Very potent, dark, dense and interesting. It lasts a long time and is clearly a night perfume, for cold weather or a very special event. I use it whenever I fancy, but you have to be careful when applying it.

  • The blend of tonka and vanilla is delicious. If you add the quality reflected in the longevity and the trail… ❤️

  • After reading many very good reviews and being recommended it a lot, I bought it and couldn’t stand it. I used it one day and gave it to a friend. It resulted in a very strong and heavy vanilla that wouldn’t stop smelling and bothered me.

  • vladlena 1994

Incredible scent. Dior rarely disappoints me. To me, it smells very much of jasmine, repeat, the scent is irrepeatable, very majestic. Beautiful bottle, simple but with personality. A scent I believe won’t go out of fashion for many years. Thank you, Dior.

  • Reformulated! The magic of before is gone; I don’t know if you know the old Addict, the one with the gold atomiser. That was the good one, the one that drove us mad, it had magic and only that one was called Addict, living up to the name because after smelling it you couldn’t let go. The current one… well, it tries to simulate the previous one, but it doesn’t succeed, in my opinion. The longevity has dropped to 4-5 hours and the trail is ridiculous, it doesn’t compare to the old one. This is just a memory, a terrible memory. Lately I see that the big houses only know how to make perfumes worse, but they don’t lower prices, no, they leave them the same or raise them… I’m sorry.

  • I didn’t like it; it has a vintage aroma that doesn’t suit me, like the first Opium or Shalimar by Guerlain. I also didn’t find it very heavy or long-lasting, so I wouldn’t buy it.

  • I tried it today in a department store after reading and hearing wonderful things about this perfume… I did like it, but it’s not my style. It’s too strong at first, then leaves a rich and lasting trail. I wouldn’t buy it, repeat: I like it, but only about 80%… Greetings to all perfume enthusiasts.

  • What a sad story with this perfume. I first smelled it about 10 or 12 years ago and fell in love at first sight. Back then, as a student, freshly graduated, with my first job and dreaming of a house and a car, it was expensive and headed my wishlist for years, waiting to buy it without failing at something more important first. Now I have it, the reformulated version; what have they done with my old love? It’s sad I never got the original; what I have now isn’t the same, it’s more diluted and bland. It smells nice, but it’s so fleeting, almost skin-scent only. I keep it and wear it often, about 8 sprays to feel it, just to console my conscience; waiting didn’t work, so it serves as a lesson for many other cases. It’s a white floral, vanillaised, with a citrus touch, drying sweet and soft, and it’s not worth the price anymore. What a pity.

  • La Reine de Nuit feels like a dream in a bottle. The midnight blue bottle is beautiful and mysterious, perfect for that moment. It starts fresh with orange and mandarin, then the queen arrives: rose and vanilla. It’s sensual, nocturnal, and sophisticated, a rarity these days. The dry-down is spectacular, bearing the Dior hallmark. I love it for summer or spring evenings outdoors, or in winter indoors; it lasts a long time and leaves a trail, ideal with blue clothing. I heard it was reformulated and no longer has the rose or the night-blooming cereus, what a pity; it certainly isn’t the same. I’ll use it with care, drop by drop.

  • Cieloaime2408

I love Christian Dior and all their perfumes, but I can’t say the same about this one; I was greatly disappointed. Disgusting aroma, it reminds me of cemetery flowers. It’s unbearable; I simply won’t tolerate it.

How fortunate I feel to have this version with Magnificente Night Queen as the protagonist. Tonight the Queen perfumed herself with drops of Orange Blossom Elixir and vanilla and mandarin, carried a bouquet of roses, and wrapped herself in the warmth of tonka bean; her trail smells of sandalwood. How can one not be a Night Queen with these aromatic jewels? Warning: this EDP is only for night queens, seductive, empowered, and overwhelming…

  • Horrible, I bought it with great hope. Brutal trail, brutal longevity. The initial scent is super spiced, like a closed spice cupboard 400 years old. After a while, it smells like a lady’s wrist with a cloth of spices.

  • Fabulous perfume, powerful and it lasts a long time… I think it’s the Night Queen that makes it so special; one of my favourites.

  • In my case, it’s nothing of the sort; a heap of indistinct white florals with a few green stems. It’s a very ‘eh’ scent; sometimes it gave me a funereal sensation… It’s a definite no, plus it lasts only 1-2 hours on very soft skin.

  • I found many intense white flowers and a brutal warmth of cinnamon, even though that note isn’t declared. I wouldn’t buy it.

  • I have to admit I only tried it once. On my skin, it opens citrusy and fresh, but after 30 seconds, the tonka bean rises up and usually kills any other note. This scent dominates everything, although a very weak floral base is noticeable. I’ve heard it on others and it works better, but it’s not for my skin, where the tonka smells like dirty socks, quite unappealing. It feels like a feminine battle perfume for cold nights: you put it on and know exactly what you’re getting. Pleasant: 4/10 Interesting: 2/10 Versatile: 5/10 Original: 5/10

  • Deli Zambrano M

Here, tonka bean and sandalwood reign supreme. It is extremely strong and invasive; you must use it with great care.

  • Captivating aroma, an olfactory jewel, it’s in my top 3. I used it a lot; it’s powerful and overwhelming, for people with character. As you walk, you exude that exotic, narcotic vanilla. A unique, sexy, and bewitching perfume. Everyone asked what it was and asked me to repeat, but I only bought the small bottle; with a little, you last a long time.

  • Tonka bean and sandalwood galore! ‘Narcotic’ is the perfect word. It opens bright, as if it had ripened in a dark corner. Reminds me of rice pudding with cinnamon; it smells like food. Ideal for nights or family events. Also perfect for a coquettish lady having tea with cakes in a confectionery on a rainy day. As for me, who prefers brighter scents, I’m sure one of its flankers will win me over.
