Descripción

Intense by Boadicea the Victorious is a floral fruity gourmand fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2008, this composition was created by perfumer John Stephen. The olfactory pyramid begins with fruity top notes; the heart reveals a harmony of lily of the valley, neroli, jasmine and rose extract; while the base settles on white honey, vanilla, patchouli and woody notes.

I tested this fragrance some time ago and I remember it perfectly for its superb memory effect. It has an explosive, potent, and dense opening, evolving on my skin into honeyed fruits with a just and seductive sweetness. The performance is very good and what surprises me is the quality of the notes, where honey is the protagonist: it is a honey with a pollen aroma, truly achieved. It is wearable all year round and very seductive, ideal for the evening or romantic dates, although with few sprays. It is intense as its name indicates. The price is its only drawback, but since it is meant to be applied sparingly, it has longevity. For honey lovers: it is a honey that covers a platter of fruit, giving it a savoury nuance. A powerful and wonderful perfume.

  • This is my second review and I simply love it. A creamy, sweet honey with touches of Mediterranean fruit and excellent longevity. I am thinking of wearing it for Christmas. It suits well at gatherings with family and friends. I applied a little to a card in the lounge and it aromatises the whole room for days. There is no doubt it is ‘intense’, as its name suggests, but it is not overwhelming. It presents harmony, reminiscent of Serge Lutens who loves putting honey in his creations, but BTV Intense is younger and more wearable.

Some fragrances don’t need much text. Here, the niche truly comes into its own, gifting you a potent, unmistakable honey with a touch of star anise at the end. This is for you if you love honey, bees, or both. After being stunned by that honey explosion, Maya the Bee saves the day with a basket of flowers, vanilla, and patchouli so you can keep enjoying. Used in moderation, the Intense is a first-class floral honey scent. Its gourmand blend is exquisite; although the citrus notes should shine, on my skin they are overshadowed by the force of that fine honey soaked in flowers that leave you speechless. Is it feminine, masculine, or unisex? It doesn’t matter if you feel comfortable with it. It has depth thanks to the jasmine, rose, and patchouli, which are hard to identify on their own. For me, it is more than perfume: it is pure aromatherapy, almost antidepressant when I smell it. It is almost dreamlike, as if elves had mixed that nectar with milk, dew, and magic, until Boadicea decided to gift us a dream. Imagine lazy afternoons under the sun, thousands of goblets, and the buzz of bees. Summer, sun, happiness.
