Iris Ebene is another fragrance I first discarded and now rediscover with amazement. A rich mix of iris, plush suede, and woods; on the opening it smells of tangerine skin and dries down to a spiced accord that balances everything well. It lands halfway between the iris in Dior Homme and the suede in Baldessarini, but lacking the intensity of the first and the rose of the second. The balance is good and that accord of waxed wood with suede is marvellous. Balanced, elegant, and of the highest quality, ideal for cold or mild times, though it could go well in summer too. I feel it is more masculine and has good longevity; the trail is a whole experience. Today it is my favourite from the brand. Rating: 9/10. Tested from the Discovery Set.
Iris Ebene is another scent I initially dismissed, only to rediscover it with astonishment today. A very rich blend of iris, plush suede, and woods; on the opening, it smells of tangerine skin, settling into a spiced accord that balances the composition perfectly. It sits somewhere between the iris in Dior Homme and the suede in Baldessarini Strictly Private, yet without the intensity of the former or the rose of the latter. The balance is excellent, and that result of waxed wood with a layer of suede is simply marvellous. Balanced, elegant, and of the highest quality, perfect for cold or mild weather, though it could work quite well on summer evenings too. I perceive it as more masculine with good longevity; its trail is truly an experience. For now, my overall favourite from the brand. Rating: 9/10. Tested from the brand’s Discovery Set.
It is a dark iris, with pepper and leather that smells like sharpening a pencil. Dry, without any sweetness. Totally unisex, although if you are not used to these scents, you might perceive it as more masculine. The trail is discreet to moderate. I like it, but I have perfumes that give me the same sensations.
