  I didn’t want to rush into reviewing this beauty, but I must. It begins with a citrus note that provokes sharpness, yet nothing intense or aggressive. On the contrary, it smells of wet earth and freshly cut grass, soon fading to give way to white flowers. For a good while, I perceive the gardenia, lovely and soft, making everything much more creamy. The sweetness arrives with the neroli and lingers to take over. It is followed by a bed of super-creamy white flowers, almost milky; I can’t explain it better. It is sweet, but not cloying, simply lovely. In the base, the rose appears occasionally, adding a fresh and green touch. To be honest, I wouldn’t have called this fragrance “Gardenia”, but I understand why they did. It is a lovely, fresh, and creamy representation of it. Very good longevity and sillage. Little trail on me, but I love that. You have to get close to discover its beauty.

  A friend invited me to try it and gifted me a vial so I could get to know it for a few days. Normally, I don’t form an opinion after the first sniff, but the Hermès seal guarantees quality, and I don’t believe my perception will change. The first thing you notice is a citrus aroma with green notes, similar to Jour d’Hermès. Then the citrus fades, and three white flowers emerge: gardenias, neroli, and jasmine. The first two hours are a balanced trilogy where none of them dominates. The roses from the pyramid are perceptible, but not as much as the whites. Afterward, the gardenias become the absolute protagonists, hence the name; they are, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful gardenias in perfumery. I can imagine a bride wearing such a striking scent. It is another triumph from Hermès: it is very “natural”, as if you were smelling live flowers in a hanging garden. The first two hours are noticeable, after which it maintains a moderate to low trail. Lasts discreetly for 8 hours on skin. It is rare to find so little written about this beautiful bottle! That speaks to how distinguished it is; it is not just another one of the crowd, but a fine choice.

  When my wife and I were courting, I gifted her this perfume. I spotted it in a small boutique with just a sealed bottle and the sample. The saleswoman handed me a mouillette, and instantly, I was captivated by that exquisitely feminine scent; I didn’t hesitate for a second and bought it. She was utterly enchanted by it, and to this day, there is still a little left because she reserves it for special daytime occasions. It is an exquisite fragrance: its floral notes are soft yet not light, fresh but not simple. It is unique, and it looks spectacular on my wife.
