Khaox by Darkbeat Parfums

KHAOX has a top-of-the-range mint and lime opening with a touch of rum. It smells like the wrapper of Chewy mints. It’s a very persistent and potent sugared mint. I appreciate it more as a masculine scent than a feminine one.

Khaox has a magnificent lime opening. In my opinion, it’s a mentholated lime, almost balsamic (perhaps due to the accompanying rum), and it’s delicious. In the dry-down phase, it gradually gives way to the lily note, which is what I perceive the most. If the opening is already delicious, it is in this phase where I find the most enchanting fragrance: it’s a musky lily, very pleasant and that sweetens over time. Magnificent work by José Manuel. A perfume jewel.

Many commercial houses would love to have fragrances with the olfactory quality, development, and performance that Darkbeat’s scents possess. Khaox is extremely original, surprising, and has great evolution. The first time it left me flabbergasted, but on subsequent uses I didn’t stop being amazed. It has a very citrusy, even acidic opening, with the green touch of mint and a subtle hint of rum. These notes incredibly recreate a mojito accord that accompanies us throughout the development, although sometimes only as a burst. In the heart, the lily of the valley stands out, but it will be the resinous and sweet amber that gradually takes over until it’s what remains on the skin. This amber comes with a musk that is halfway between carnal and clean, very pleasant. It’s potent and has body. I rarely say that four sprays are enough, but this is one of those cases. The trail is notable and lasts more than 24 hours. It projects a lot for the first 6-7 hours and then sticks to the skin, but it’s still there for much longer. It’s unisex, although personally I would prefer it on male skin. I think it can be pleasant in all seasons: the mojito screams summer, but the resinous and sweet dry-down screams winter. A great work by Darkbeat and highly recommended. A green opening at full throttle with a bitter citrus peel that floods you and opens the senses to what’s to come (and without any pepper). Shortly afterwards, the amber and sexy musk come out and will last for a total of 7 hours; from time to time you notice a sweet rum, or a breeze brings a smell of green fig, or it’s mint. These three notes dance at different times around the amber and musk, tempting them into a trio, but none breaks the duo which is the true protagonist. Unisex. 100% versatility. Four seasons, perhaps except for very hot days due to the potent opening. Night and day, brilliant.

Khaox is a different perfume. Green, fresh, citrusy, and aromatic. The opening, with that combination of rum, lime, and peppermint, smells like a mojito and transports me straight to summer and the beach, to mojitos at the beach bars. Afterwards, the perfume becomes softer and evolves towards a slightly sweeter point that lasts for several hours. That base of musky amber with green touches is really very pleasant. In short, a very original perfume, perfect for wearing during the day, especially in spring/summer. Scent: 9.5, Longevity: 8, Projection: 6, Originality: 10, Versatility: 9, Overall: 9.

Top-notch fragrance. I can’t pinpoint the notes, but it smells of dampness, like that corner of the garden after a summer shower. Despite this, it has a warm base reminiscent of Dana’s Tabu, likely due to the amber and musk. I absolutely loved it.

What a thrill to try the perfumes from our dear Darkbeat. The moment I sprayed it, I noticed the citrus notes; it feels very fresh and as time passes it evolves a lot… It’s as if in the opening something shy begins to gradually make itself known. I don’t understand much about notes, but I can tell there’s a lot of quality. Perhaps I perceive it as more feminine in the opening and then more unisex. Above all, I see it for high temperatures. Well done. Editing to add that I don’t like mint and plants, and here it is so well balanced that it doesn’t bother me at all.
