Laurent Mazzone has an innovative and unconventional approach to perfumery that sometimes strays from the classics, crafting scents for those who wish to stand out. It’s not just about smelling good; it’s about conveying emotions. Kingdom of Dreams is a contemporary dark fragrance, as if made of spiced tears and resin. A balsamic cedar soaked in musk, with an earthy touch of incense that magically transports you to a gothic, rainy forest. It’s night; there are only leaves, damp earth, and something spicy; I feel out of this world, filled with fear and unease. Just as the anguish subsides, a faint amber light appears, like a diamond struggling against the coldness of the incense. The longevity is acceptable, but don’t buy it blindly: if you prefer warm, cosy blankets, this isn’t for you. (Courtesy of Darkbeat)
