L’Acquarossa by Fendi

L’Acquarossa by Fendi is an exquisite, sophisticated and very feminine fragrance. I found something truly rich, yet not cloying or annoying to anyone. I tested it alongside several other perfumes and ended up taking the card it came in, which now smells wonderful where I keep it. That day I tried around ten perfumes (something I won’t repeat as the scents don’t register well anymore); I got confused and asked for another one to be given to me, the DOT by M. Jacobs, which has nothing to do with it… ahaha. Then I thought: how strange, it didn’t smell the same. Three months later I returned to the perfumery, wanted something by Fendi and was recommended this. Yes! It was the one from the book. Without a doubt, the olfactory memory never forgets a good perfume. It is rich, perfect for a confident, self-assured woman who works with enthusiasm and likes to feel sophisticated even if her appearance isn’t all that. The flowers develop beautifully, especially the roses, orange blossom and magnolia. I think the distinguished touch comes from the base notes: musk and Japanese red cedar. I don’t detect the patchouli. I highly recommend it for women aged 30 and above, though an independent woman in her twenties could wear it too. Moderate trail, long-lasting: about eight hours on skin and over 24 on clothes. I use it occasionally for work, it suits both indoor and outdoor settings. It can also be worn for special outings in cold weather.

Suitable for work, indoor or outdoor settings, and outings in cooler weather.

First of all, the bottle: symmetrical lines, rectangular shape, red and gold. To me, it seems feminine because it’s elegant, concrete, and has a halo of mystery. At the first spray I feel the rose and the lantana, the citrusy and fresh sweetness of the lemon, the plum passes, and finally the patchouli, almost neutral but which gives an invisible power to the perfume. I feel it spiced, with fleeting Indian aromas. Totally sophisticated: the rose elevates it, the patchouli and sandalwood surround it. I imagine a woman with dark hair dressed in red with golden eyes.

What a beauty! It’s a bottle of passionate red and seduction. Fortunately, at first the citrus notes overpower the plum, which I don’t like. Then comes the magic: a ripe red rose with gardenias competing equally with the lantana. What a combination with the magnolia and the lantana leaves. To finish, Japanese red cedar and patchouli. In summary: a splendid rose with a fine, woody dry-down. I think it’s versatile for any season. I bought it in 10 ml, but I’m already ordering the large bottle, which is also very pretty.

October 2016: Fendi’s L’Acquarossa lives up to its name; it’s like a fresh rose floral water. Citrus and plum add a fruity touch, nothing powdery. The soft patchouli base gives it a chypre vibe, although it’s an oriental floral. Barely sweet, ideal for spring and summer, or for elegant evening outings. It’s versatile, light, and a refreshing change from the heavy perfumes currently on the market. I love it for its beautiful composition. The red bottle with gold accents is gorgeous. Highly recommended.

I define it as: an intense aroma of fresh, young roses, with lots of green. That green note is the combination of bergamot, citrus, and musk. I love it so much. On humid days I have to apply a little to avoid getting a headache. I don’t understand why it doesn’t match the bottle; it doesn’t remind me of red, but rather of leather and the formality of a Fendi wallet. It’s super sophisticated. If you like rose but not the classic kind, this is a great option. Lasts a long time.

To me, L’Acquarossa embodies femininity. It’s a creamy fruity floral scent; I wouldn’t classify it as an oriental floral. The opening is very citrusy, dominated by mandarin, while the rose takes centre stage. Without the mandarin, it wouldn’t be the same. It’s rich, striking and different from most rose perfumes as it lacks vanilla or woods. Suitable for any season and time of day, with good sillage and longevity. Rating 9/10.

Delicious, fresh and floral scent. There’s a strong pink rose and mandarin notes, then the rose gives way to magnolia (which smells citrusy to me), finishing with a sweet woody trail. I gifted it to my mum and it suits her skin perfectly. Very feminine and youthful, yet with an elegant, distinguished touch. Average longevity with moderate sillage.

It’s adorable and incredibly delicate, a pity it doesn’t last long. It smells fresh of rose, citrus, and cedar. I bought a gift set with gel and cream; the packaging is stunning, minimalist, with a metallic gold base and elegant colours. The body is compact, not translucent. It exudes Italian elegance.

I’ve just acquired it; it’s a beautiful floral creation. Rose and magnolia dominate, with citrus notes present. In my opinion, it can be worn at any time of day and throughout the year. I love it.
