I bought it in summer and the cheap musk kept me awake, but with the cold came salvation: it has truly won me over now. It seems like a different fragrance; the cedar, amber, and sandalwood blend with a subtle spiced rose. It has conquered me.
LAPIS LAZULI is the gem of BEJAR’s budget range: lots of perfume for little money. The bottle with lapis lazuli pebbles at the bottom is lovely, and the name evokes luck and positive vibrations. Béjar is an alchemist who uses molasses oil to transmit energy to the stone. The notes vary between sources (yuzu, pomegranate, flowers, mahogany), but the base is floral musky. For me, who dislikes poorly dosed musk, it doesn’t quite convince; the mix with flowers feels a bit heavy. I detect a sharp, bitter yuzu that doesn’t suit me. It’s not my style, but it is recommended for those who love floral musk. It lasts a long time and has a strong trail, so there’s no need to overapply.

Does anyone else long for those feminine perfumes from the late nineties with sweet woods and that androgynous sandalwood touch, like Cristóbal Balenciaga or Very Valentino? Hallelujah, this Lapis Lazuli is the substitute I was looking for: sweet, edible, and woody, just that fashion from eighteen years ago that drives me mad. The bottle is ugly, looks like a cheap imitation of Chanel No 5, and the sticker is poorly printed, but what does it matter if for ten euros you revive those sexy woods? Yes, it sins by being a bit sweeter than necessary, but it’s not a cheap or burnt sweetness; it’s natural, powdery, and woody. Totally recommended. I’ve been bathing in it for days.
As a gift, it’s a gem. The packaging is a treat with those blue lapis lazuli pebbles. It smells rich, sweet, and floral, very similar to a perfume I can’t quite remember. I started using it on 17 January and it has good longevity on the skin. The scent is soft and sweet, almost identical to the M by Mariah Carey I had before.
