Bejar Shadow is a very interesting proposal which I was able to try thanks to an excellent person like Bofifa. I think it is better appreciated if you have an idea of how some oriental cut aromas smell even though it was created by a Spanish house. It is not an easy fragrance; if you are not slightly accustomed to these types of perfumes it may be challenging but if it combines well with your body chemistry it will pleasantly surprise you. The opening is sharp and of medium-high potency quickly transforming into something more wearable with delicious woody and gourmand notes including a touch of caramel. The quality is notable resulting in a spiced and balsamic character at various moments. The longevity is of a good level with a moderate-to-high trail depending on the number of sprays. It is worth exploring other creations from this house.
Once again the benefactor hand of Darkbeat has left me enjoying this SHADOW by BÉJAR. It presents a woody and spiced opening in which the scent of cashmere wood sandalwood and patchouli intermingle. A spicy touch is perceived but not of saffron or nutmeg as the descriptive sheet declares but rather of black pepper. If anything I would have removed a sharp note of white musk that clashes with the previous notes. Oh that musk; how difficult it is to use and how much damage it does to some perfumes! SHADOW has a familiar tone of some perfumes from Dubai to the extent that it could be one of the fragrances from Rasasi or Al Haramain. It possesses a very typical accord in these perfumes resulting from a spiced-musky mixture that evokes pepper turmeric saffron cardamom and nutmeg without any of them clearly standing out. Likewise it moves between a gourmand memory of a spiced Arabic stew mixed with the classic rose-oud combo and intense white musk. As it dries down it turns into a woody sweetness arising from patchouli sandalwood amber and jasmine. Both the bottle and the box are simple and beautiful in terracotta tones and rounded shapes like an Arabic amphora stamped with a cap and golden letters. The Spanish brand BÉJAR is a great unknown to the public and it is a real shame.
Another success by Béjar that one which mixes extremely expensive niche perfumes with jewellery at a popular price; the care and respect for the enthusiast are noticeable. Shadow is a bomb of woods with a base of creamy and sweet amber. The opening is rough and spicy with more Arabic touches than to the Western taste. The amber appears exuberant almost wet warm with ashy and leather nuances. Despite the strong opening it does not panic: the density of notes calms down quickly leaving a versatile pleasant and easy-to-wear woody amber. It is masculine exotic but just right to be friendly. It is so appreciated that the bottle goes down almost without you noticing; it is always tempting to carry it perhaps even more in the cold. Projection is good for the first two hours then moderate and longevity is excellent. Ideal for an Arabic touch without seeming like you forgot your turban.
Another discovery by Béjar that caught me by surprise: a precious and delicate wood totally unisex. At the start spiced notes set the rhythm offering a soft wet and spicy wood as if it were fine wood with a touch of cinnamon. Then the wood gains body and takes centre stage throughout the development but at the beginning it results in a dry and powdery wood like a very fine and powdery wood talc. Over time it evolves into a caramelised sweet and warm wood similar to a fine cream with woods. The dry down is super soft and delicate; I loved it. It is unisex and lasts more than 9 hours with a powerful trail at the beginning and moderate after the first hour. Ideal for cool climates day or night. Recommended for those seeking fine and delicate woods without exaggerations or potent woods.
Another discovery by Béjar that caught me off guard: a precious and delicate wood totally unisex. Upon opening spiced notes add a spicy touch to a wet and fine wood as if there were cinnamon. Then the wood gains body starting dry and powdery like a woody talc until transforming into something caramelised sweet and warm like a fine cream. The dry down is very soft and I loved it. Longevity is excellent more than 9 hours with a powerful trail at the beginning and moderate afterwards. Ideal for cool climates day or night. Recommended if you are looking for fine and delicate woods without excesses.
