One must acknowledge that this French house strives to create untried and quite original scents. While the fragrances are certainly of a very high standard, their performance is highly irregular and varies depending on the choice. This Dark Star on my skin is predominantly aquatic-spicy at the outset, then the woody note emerges, finishing with a very slight smoky-sweet trail. I detect a faint charcoal-like nuance reminiscent of a pencil lead in the base. One might assume that, with ambroxan and that combination, it would be a powerhouse of longevity and projection, but alas, it is not. It sits close to the skin immediately, with longevity barely reaching six hours, the final two hours being almost imperceptible (body heat helps a little, but nothing remarkable). What a pity, for it is a scent I love greatly—mysterious, versatile, and original. And at a price of €120/100ml, it becomes an insurmountable hurdle. Au revoir!
