Escapade a Byzance by Olibere Parfums is an oriental fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2015, this composition was created by perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour. In its top notes, the fragrance unfolds a vibrant combination of cinnamon, black pepper, saffron, ginger, thyme and citrus. The heart reveals a spicy and resinous elegance with cloves, incense and cypress. Finally, the base notes settle into a warm and woody foundation formed by benzoin, amber, vanilla, cedar, heliotrope, patchouli, musk and vetiver.

It seems fresh for her, but it doesn’t smell anything like a woman to me. It is an oriental with spices; although it carries citrus, these are in the background. Ideal for hot days: it smells good but discreet. Its dry-down is delicious.
Wearing it for several days, I now understand the reputation of French perfumes: pure elegance and style.
It is a warm, spicy fragrance with very versatile and original notes. It’s not the typical cinnamon and pepper scent we already know and have in abundance on the market. This smells very interesting, and I repeat, quite peculiar and unique. It opens with a very prominent black pepper, and its evolution reveals cinnamon mixed with citrus, aromatic touches, that incense, and finally woody and amber notes. It is an olfactory delight that you can wear in any season or setting, but for me, this outing screams autumn. What a beautiful autumn is conjured within this exquisite fluid. The trail is moderate to wide. Longevity is about 4-5 hours of fixed projection, before settling as a veil of rich spices, flowers, wood, and amber on your skin. It could be perfectly unisex, though I feel it is very feminine for me. Anyway, I invite you to try it; I assure you it will be a very pleasant experience if you are into this type of fragrance. 10/10
