Paradis Lointains is a fairly linear fragrance that’s hard to break down note by note; I can’t identify the ylang-ylang or clove separately. When I tested it on blotting paper, my first thought was Chilean mint Tictacs, and on closer inspection, it smells like toothpaste. I laughed because, although it sounds like floral gum, it’s a scent I absolutely love and it brings me incredible peace—something I never thought a perfume could do. Now I understand why it doesn’t suit many people. It’s sweet, calming white flowers, ideal for wearing while working remotely; it’s nothing overwhelming, more like a loving self-embrace with a sensual touch that puts me in a good mood. I like it!
