I went to the shop just to try it out. Upon spraying it, the first thing I noticed was spice, lacking that green touch others enjoy. I expected it to be more potent, but the first hour was a warm and rich scent; then, after an hour, it turned into talcum powder. By five hours, it barely scents close to the skin, with that rich powdery smell. It is a beautiful fragrance, but I didn’t take it home as it doesn’t add anything new to my collection. In fact, it reminds me almost scandalously of Dana’s Tabu, which I have owned for over 35 years; even the powdery Tabu smells the same. Of course, Must is about five times less potent than Tabu, which is a true gem and a bomb all at once. It is a classic with a beautiful bottle that I will one day gift to my mother to apologise for having appropriated her beloved Tabu, which she started using at just 14 years old.

I went to the shop solely to try it out. Upon spraying, the first thing I noticed was a spicy note, lacking that green touch others seem to enjoy. I expected it to be more potent; however, the first hour offered a warm, rich scent, before shifting to a talcum powder smell after an hour. By five hours, it barely lingered on the skin, leaving just that rich powdery trail. It is a lovely perfume, yet I didn’t purchase it as it adds nothing new to my collection. The opening is warm with a super fresh green touch (galbanum really shines here). As it settles, it becomes a barely sweet vanilla with a bouquet of wild herbs that don’t reach bitterness and a powdery hint. It is a warm, soft and elegant scent. Refined in a vintage style, but without the bestial potency of perfumes from before. It reminded me of the smell of luxury body creams from the early 1990s.

  5. I see many classify it as green. Perhaps it is my skin’s effect, but for me, who loves green perfumes, those notes do not stand out. On my skin, it smells cosmetic; not of poor quality, as Cartier never smells bad, but it is the opposite of what I expected from a green fragrance. Compared to other female fragrances, it is not as sweet. However, the vanilla, flowers, and oriental touch make it quite heavy. I would say it wears the name ‘Gold’ well; the aroma makes me think of a golden balm. I agree with those who identified it with mature ladies; I cannot imagine a 25-year-old wearing this fragrance. It is a well-made perfume, but I don’t believe it will be the favourite of many green lovers.

  6. It is a delicious and elegant aroma for those who enjoy green notes, slightly powdery and clean florals. It has nothing to do with Cartier’s Must; it is a different perfume, of great quality, long-lasting, and with good projection. However, it did not work well with my chemistry; although I like this type of aroma, one note gave me a headache and decomposed until it smelled like insecticide. It wasn’t my skin pH, but perhaps it suits other girls much better. Highly recommended to try on skin; in my opinion, it is a good option for mature ladies.

Cartier Gold Must brings together vintage and modern styles in the purest Cartier fashion. It is a sober and elegant fragrance that opens with an imperious, yet not impertinent, galbanum, lacking that usual bitter and astringent aftertaste this plant gives, perhaps softened by osmanthus which modernises it and dresses it for new generations, adding that special touch for those who already loved Cartier Must. Its green notes enchant me throughout the heart phase, announcing a vanilla that refuses to transform into gourmand, but instead caresses the stems with supreme beauty; there we have the unmistakable seal of the house: a slightly oriental, green fragrance sprinkled with creaminess. Focused for a natural woman who loves nature but looks carefully at her wardrobe when dressing, who organises her drawers to the millimetre and dares not say a word above or below even if she considers herself right; a woman whose integrity and firm thought reveal her, not her tongue. Solidity and personality.
