Transports me to an old dressing room in shades of burgundy and gold, with carved frames, feathers, and roses on the table. It’s like the scene in ‘Chaplin’ (1992) where Robert Downey Jr. walks in and all the women rush to powder their faces and get dressed behind the vaudeville curtain. It smells of aldehydes, old peach, and alcohol-free macerated perfumes flooding the room, mixing with lacquers, lipsticks, and sandalwood—true backstage aromas… It has me completely lost! 🕯️ 9.5/10.🔥

It’s a classically romantic, almost twee, bed of roses in a room full of antique toys and porcelain dolls. A vintage floral scent that perfectly captures the aesthetic of an era when Guerlain proved its mastery by creating powdery floral notes. It’s a portrait of vintage roses: coquettish, sharp, and pure perfumery history.

Nothing surpasses a natural rose bush, but nothing stops the shine of Nahema. Real roses fall silent in envy before something so artificial and secure; it’s insatiable, leaving no room for anything else. It is all her, the authentic, eternal one, while natural flowers have their end. Many will hate it for so much protagonism, but for me, it’s one of the best rose essences, perhaps histrionic, but I’ve learned to love it. It’s rare because the green notes don’t steal the spotlight and balance perfectly with the rest.

Pity that the current version isn’t more opulent, as it smells wonderful. I’d read it was green rose, hyacinth, and aldehydes, but beyond the first few bars, I don’t see that. Within minutes, it turns very fruity: peach, passion fruit… they make the rose, the absolute protagonist, appear red, juicy, and syrupy. Upon drying, a floral accord emerges reminiscent of Champs Élysées; I think it’s a mix of ylang and lilacs (due to the notes, hehe), and the peach also participates. It’s a high-quality accord, balsamic and relaxing. You can also detect a creamy sandalwood in the dry down.
