I was eager to try another scent from the house after falling for their Sahraa Oud, but I have to admit it has hugely disappointed me. The opening left me indifferent: it smells like a strawberry crystal candy with a hint of rose. Fair enough, but it adds nothing. I thought it would improve with time, but after three hours I went from indifference to sheer annoyance. In its development, it has turned into a cloying aroma typical of a schoolchild, one of those you hope will end soon for the family’s sake. The oud doesn’t appear at all, and with all due respect, I think I’d enjoy it more mixed into the caramelised apple syrup at fairs; at least then I’d have the consolation of being able to eat it and save myself the trouble of cooking.
I agree with ‘laenfermeria’ about that childish strawberry note; it’s an absolute disaster. Demi Rawling’s hype claiming it smells like ‘rich woman 2020’ was a total scam. I tried it and was hugely disappointed: it doesn’t smell wealthy, but rather like an indecisive unisex that works for no one. On my skin, the oud and sandalwood make it smell like a metrosexual man, nothing attractive. The strawberry, however, smells like cheap bubblegum or tacky caramel, nothing natural. If that’s femininity, it’s childish and zero sexy. Everything smells very synthetic, especially the rose, and it genuinely bothers me. I’d rather spend $20 on a celebrity perfume that smells better and people actually like it. I won’t even use the 1ml decant because I can’t stand it; it’s tiring, especially in summer.
