Paris Nights by Celine Dion: Powdery Floral with a Warm Evening Trail

Released in 2007, Paris Nights from Celine Dion is a women’s floral fragrance. The nose behind it is Karine Dubreuil-Sereni.

The idea is that of a Parisian night in scent form: bright fruity freshness at first, then a comforting blend of blossoms, powder and vanilla woods.

Up top are wisteria, passion fruit and black violet. The effect is airy and floral with a tropical fruit sparkle, tempered by the cool, powder-soft character of violet.

At the heart, wild jasmine meets laburnum flower, rose and osmanthus. Rose and jasmine provide the white-floral backbone, with osmanthus offering a softly fruity sheen and laburnum a light, graceful accent.

Underneath, vanilla, sandalwood, cashmere wood, amber and patchouli create the base. Here the sweetness turns creamy and amber-like, while sandalwood, cashmere wood and patchouli lend mellow woody support.

Taken together, the profile is floral, woody and powdery, fresh yet sweet, with violet, white flowers, vanilla and tropical fruit in evidence. Among wearers it averages 4.03 from 5 across 58 votes.

Best suited to lovers of gentle, feminine florals with a little sweetness — those who enjoy a fresh-fruity introduction settling into a smooth, warm veil for the evening.

Considered as a whole, Paris Nights is a charming, unfussy night-time floral of its era, showing Dubreuil-Sereni’s tidy balance of blossom, soft sweetness and cosy woods.
