Moresque delivers a spiced vanilla, a pure essence yet brimming with complexity and a polarising development. It is dense, heavy, and of exceptional quality—a hidden gem. Initially, it is an overwhelming explosion of vanilla, spices, florals and fruits that leave you breathless. Then, the vanilla and ylang-ylang duo takes charge, settling into a creamy, dense base as the spices tame the fruits, evolving into a spiced chai with milk and vanilla, laden with powdered cinnamon, cumin and cardamom atop that creaminess, creating a rich and curious contrast. Over time, the cinnamon mellows, reminiscent of Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille but with cardamom instead of clove. Once the spices fade, a clear neroli awakens as it separates from the vanilla, becoming more floral than spicy. The performance is brutal, lasting over 12 hours with strong projection and a trail that fills any room. Without doubt, it is a complex, difficult-to-understand masterpiece and an essential discovery from the house.
