Waiting for it 👅.
To the one below who says they’re waiting for it: wait sitting down. It will only be available in the Middle East, much to our regret. So, if you’re travelling or have a layover at an airport there, take the opportunity to get your hands on it.
Thanks Anabel 💗, one less expense 😅 to reorganise my list of next loves.
My mother used to say that when I was little I’d get a fever if I didn’t get what I wanted, hahaha, and I still hold onto a little of that. I bought it at Golden Scent: oh my goodness, this doesn’t even have 10% of Classic Scandal. It’s potent, non-linear and hard to pin down; super floral and elegant, with no sweetness or pastry-like notes (hence why it’s only sold in the Middle East). What stands out is the leather: for the first 20 minutes it smells vintage, then the leather blends with the saffron. The longevity is less than Scandal By Night, around 7 hours on skin; at that point, it smells soapy. To summarise, it smells about 80% like Dior’s Fahrenheit ☺️.
My mother used to say that when I was little, I’d get a fever if I didn’t get what I wanted, haha, and I still keep a bit of that streak. I bought it at Golden Scent: oh dear, this doesn’t even have 10% of Classic Scandal. It’s potent, nothing like a linear scent, and hard to pin down; super floral and elegant, with no sweetness or bakery notes (which is why it’s only sold in the Middle East). What stands out is the leather: for the first 20 minutes it smells vintage, then the leather joins forces with saffron. The longevity is shorter than Scandal By Night, around seven hours on skin; by then it smells soapy. To sum up, it smells about 80% like Dior’s Fahrenheit ☺️.
I picked this up in Liverpool and decided to go for it, as they said it wouldn’t reach Mexico, but here it is! =) It’s simply delightful. On application, it smells of fine leather, nothing unpleasant; the honey adds sweetness without being as cloying as its sister, By Night, and I detect the jasmine straight away, making it super feminine. As it dries down, it settles into wood, leather and honey, which is how I experience it on my skin. Lasts 8 to 10 hours. I’ve loved it, perfect for autumn and winter.
It’s not even a shadow of Scandal, I’m sorry to say. The perfume isn’t very intense, only at the opening; the leather is imperceptible, too timid, and even the flowers seem unsure whether to smell strong or faint. The saffron is missing from the bottle. It’s quite mediocre, with about four hours’ longevity on the skin. I don’t know how they dare to say it’s for an oriental audience when it has only 10%. I believe the version that arrived in Mexico is another one, otherwise I can’t explain it. Mediocre, with no projection or magnetism, lacking strength and intensity. Definitely no scandal. It claims to be an Eau de Parfum but is at most a Toilette. I was a huge fan of the brand, I own all the versions before Puig. It saddens me greatly what the brand has become; they seem like ch. Aroma 7, Projection 5, Quality 6, Longevity 7.
I picked it up in Liverpool and went for it, as they said it wouldn’t make it to Mexico, but here it is! =) I think it’s a delight. Straight out of the bottle it smells of fine leather, nothing unpleasant; the honey adds sweetness without going as far as its sister By Night, and I can detect the jasmine from the very first moment, making it super feminine. When it dries down, it settles into wood, leather and honey, which is how I experience it on my skin. Longevity is eight to ten hours. I’ve loved it, ideal for autumn and winter.
It is not even a shadow of Scandal, I am sorry to say so. The perfume is not very intense, only at the start. The leather is imperceptible, too timid. The flowers seem not to know whether to smell strong or mild; the saffron stayed outside the bottle. It is very mediocre, lasting about four hours close to the skin. I do not know how they say it is for an Oriental public when it has only 10%. I think the version that arrived in Mexico is another one; otherwise, I cannot explain it. Mediocre, without projection or magnetism, it lacked strength and intensity. Definitely it does not cause a scandal. It claims to be Eau de Parfum and at most it is Eau de Toilette. I was a great fan of the brand, I have all the versions before Puig. It saddens me greatly what the brand has become; they seem like perfumes from ch. Aroma 7, Projection 5, Quality 6, Longevity 7.
I do not know why it has such bad reviews; it is a beautiful aroma and the leather is gorgeous. I am not a fan of saffron, but here it only gives a spicy touch. The honey OBVIOUSLY does not feel the same as the original and that is super good; it is a chypre in every sense of the word, nothing sweet or gourmand… and watch out: I love gourmand, but sometimes a change is not a bad thing. I agree that it is so different from its Scandal siblings that they could well bottle it in another bottle. In itself, it is a beautiful aroma that in a couple of years will be sought after as a collection, as it is a limited edition.
You won’t find a similarity to the classic Scandal (2017) at Gold; this is a very different version. It’s not sweet or floral, but spiced, earthy and woody. I see it as linear, with little evolution: from the moment I spray it until hours later, I detect saffron, woods, leather and oud (perhaps cardamomo in the first few minutes, but it fades quickly). The flowers they claim to have (rose and jasmine) are overshadowed by the other ingredients; I don’t notice them as marked. I don’t use it often because the woods and oud are very prominent; for me it’s a night scent and for formal wear.

A perfume for expert noses or those trained with niche aromas. It is very niche. It was declared feminine, but it is unisex, even more masculine. On my skin, the spicy touches of saffron with sambac jasmine and leather stand out. The honey is soft and fades into the background. Intense cypriol and patchouli in the dry down. Sandalwood appears as it settles. The trail is moderate to wide, lasting six or seven hours. I recommend trying it first, especially if you are a woman looking for something less sweet than Scandal; it is sweet, but more virile. To work on my skin, I must mix it with something very honeyed, such as Navitus Miel Extase or Signature Aurum by Zaharoff. With that, it adapts. It offers great quality, but it is not as honeyed or feminine as expected. I would wear it on occasional evening events and in fresh or cold climates.
It should not be bought blindly; for me, it is very masculine. At first, it smells strongly of leather and sandalwood. As it dries down, there is that mixture with rose and a slightly spicy, honeyed sweetness. I do not like it because it overwhelms and makes me dizzy. When I smelled it, I thought: ‘it reminds me of another’. Indeed, it is similar to Fahrenheit. The leather mixture of both gives me a negative reaction. To me, Fahrenheit smells of petrol and this Scandal Gold also makes me think of fuel. A resounding NO for me.
This perfume should not be a flanker of the Scandals. It smells only of leather and sandalwood, so strong that they overwhelm. Perhaps it could work for a man, but to be a definitive part of the Scandals, JPG made a mistake. I do not recommend buying it blindly or using it if it is hot.
This perfume shouldn’t even be a flanker of the Scandals; let’s not go there. The only thing that comes through is leather and sandalwood, so strong they become overpowering. I think as a men’s perfume it might work, but for it to be a true Scandal, JPG made a mistake. I don’t recommend buying it blindly, and much less wearing it if it’s hot.
I know every nose is a world, but attacking this perfume by saying it only smells of leather and is unbearable seems exaggerated. Yes, you can smell the leather, yes, the saffron, yes, it doesn’t look like a flanker of Scandal, nor So Scandal or Le Parfum, which are the most loved. However, this Gold has been unfairly judged. For me, it is a great perfume, with a wearable, feminine and lovely leather, very light, and that bright exotic honey. If you are a fan of Decadence or Kenzo World Intense, this will drive you wild.
Personally, it is not my favourite in the Scandal line, but people ignore that this fragrance was created exclusively for the Oriental market. Perfumes from Saudi Arabia and India use a lot of woody and spicy notes. This is, so to speak, the ‘Arabian’ version of Scandal.
Although many people hate it, for me it is the only one in the Scandal line that I like. It is a patchouli leather wrapped in sweet honey but without being heavy. Very refined, ideal for important evening events. It reminds me of the reformulated CH by Carolina Herrera, but with honey. I love it; it is one of my favourites.
Oh my goodness! I didn’t spot it in Argentina… what a pity. I would have loved to try it.
