  1. I was completely bewildered by Tierra. It’s that kind of fragrance that makes you stop and think about what you’re smelling and why. My nose doesn’t detect woods or resins, but something else: a board of cured cheeses, black olives, very Manchego-style, and pickles. It smells like a traditional market, dampness, fermentation, and salt. It’s pure olfactory hyperrealism. I close my eyes and I’m there. It doesn’t smell bad; on the contrary, it’s fascinating. As a sensory experience, it deserves a ten. However, I wouldn’t wear it. I can’t see myself using this scent in everyday life, no matter how admirable the creative exercise is. Tierra isn’t a perfume for wearing; it’s for experiencing. And in that, Pernoire dares where few others do. Sometimes the value isn’t in wearing a fragrance, but in living it.
