Wow, what a powerful fragrance. The scent is so intense it leaves my head in a bit of a whirl. I’d describe it as aquatic, spiced, with a subtle sweet undertone; it’s hard to pin down exactly. It reminds me of Linari’s Mare Pacifico: it opens with bitter orange, cypress, and ginger. That initial burst is quite confusing because I don’t quite detect the boozy notes everyone mentions. As it dries down, the top notes recede and white pepper, cinnamon, and something I interpret as green tobacco leaf—not the typical pipe tobacco—rise to the fore, adding a layer of complexity. It’s a wonderful scent with generous longevity and projection for the first two hours, after which it wraps you in a pleasant, comfortable personal bubble. It’s neither heavy nor dense, yet not fresh and summery either; I love that duality. Perfect for spring and autumn, a composition with real character. In my opinion, it’s unisex, perhaps slightly more masculine-leaning, but perfectly wearable by anyone. I can easily imagine wearing this by the Mediterranean coast, enjoying a fine wine and a cheese board on the balcony of a Greek building. Elegant and sophisticated.
