  1. The vanilla of my dreams: natural, unsweetened, with a touch of talc from heliotrope and a suede (not leather) that is super warm. At first, it smells like bitter orange, but after 20–30 minutes it fades, giving way to floral and warmer notes. After 1–2 hours it settles and becomes linear. It’s simple yet exquisite, unisex and versatile. Delicate and elegant. It lasts 7–8 hours on skin and longer on clothes. It doesn’t project much, but that gives it elegance; it wraps you in an intimate cloud. If you’re looking for opulence, this isn’t for you, but I love it and always recommend it.

  2. Spent a few days in Paris this spring visiting my aunt, a very chic lady, and I couldn’t stop raiding her wardrobe where Cuir Beluga is her signature. It has a velvety opening with vanilla and suede; then the suede yields to heliotrope, leaving powdery, sweet, innocent vanillas or those with a touch of old-world lady. It doesn’t leave a trail but creates a bubble around you that lasts over 12 hours. I found it lovely, sophisticated, unisex leaning towards feminine, ideal for cold days. Undisputable quality, suitable for any occasion if you want to exude elegance. Pleasant: 8/10 Interesting: 8/10 Versatile: 6/10 Original: 9/10

One of the best in the L’Art & La Matière collection by Guerlain. I love the blend of suede, vanilla and heliotrope. Imagine a suede bag with floral talc and vanilla spilled over it. Very elegant.

  5. Cuir Beluga is intoxicating and elegant. The suede is incredible, soft as velvet with a powdery touch, pure luxury. The golden bottle confirms it. It dresses, empowers, doesn’t invade, invites you to get closer and is addictive. On a woman it looks elegant, warm and sensual; on a man it would be brilliant. It’s worth every euro; I haven’t heard anything like it. It will be the perfume for my wedding 💜

  6. Cuir Beluga by Guerlain 🎐. I tried it six years ago while searching for my ideal perfume. I bought it to refill because the notes didn’t appeal to me and the name sounded ugly. What a mistake! As soon as I applied it, I thought I was floating. It is the most elegant and cosy suede scent I’ve ever heard. It doesn’t break the mould nor leave a huge trail; it’s elegant and doesn’t need to be loud. It invites you to get closer and ask who is wearing that aroma. It’s enveloping, like seductive velvet. A Holy Grail. It opens with a fleeting orange that balances the vanilla and heliotrope. The heart is the suede, sexy and special. I’d spend the day complimenting it. Refined sensuality. Buy blind if you love special vanillas. Scent: 5/5, Longevity: 5/5.
