Not much to add… For me, it was a very pleasant experience, nothing risky, it fits perfectly within the whole line. It didn’t blow my mind, I simply loved how the apple and grapefruit harmonise in the opening, an explosion where the citrus really stands out. The heart notes are brilliant, wonderfully nuanced with marine notes, basil and mint; it gave me the sensation of enjoying a super cold mojito on the beach. In the base, I sense that subtle expression of wood and vetiver, which although they don’t stand out as much as in others, remain floating in an exquisite atmosphere. It’s my first bottle, but I felt the longevity was very weak, around 4 or 6 hours, perhaps it’s my perception; however, the Perry Ellis Red for Him gave me 8 hours (applying generously). Would I recommend it? Yes, resoundingly. Is it relevant? Not really. Does it deserve a place in your collection? That depends on you. I simply love these Azzaro bottles, I like how they look in my collection, but ultimately there are many options nowadays like the Perry Ellis, the Aqua di Gio, the Halloween Hero or even the Lemoncello, which although not identical, follow the same path.

Just bought it, hope my review helps as there aren’t many. It’s a fresh perfume, very fresh, somewhat herbal. Truthfully, I barely perceive the basil note, it’s more the mint. I’ll tell you what fragrances it reminds me of so you know what it smells like: at certain moments it reminds me of Perry Ellis 18, of Burberry for Men but only for the mint note, and also of Bulgari Aqua Pour Homme, obviously without the seaweed note. So let’s say it’s a Perry Ellis 18 with more mint and a bit of the Bulgari Aqua Pour Homme scent.

Chrome Aqua, listen people. To start, I’m one of those people who often relate colours to smells. One could say that in this case, the bottle’s colour gives us the idea of how its contents can smell 100%. The opening is quite strong, citrusy and somewhat herbal. After a few minutes it gives way to something more aquatic to finish with a dry-down that is woody. It’s a very fresh perfume, simple but with body. It’s not one of those fresh scents that you barely feel. It reminded me a lot of a perfume I had as a teenager and loved very much here in Argentina: “El Acqua di Colbert”. Even the bottle colour is the same, haha. But I think that perfume was inspired by Acqua Di Gio, I don’t know if the classic or one of the many flankers, but the point is that everything relates, everything is friends. For those who know that Colbert perfume, to give you an idea, this Chrome Aqua is very, very similar but with more power, it would be like an Extreme version :P. Anyway, I found it quite nice and see it ideal for the gym or for those looking for something fresh after a shower. As for performance, it’s not a beast but it’s much more than I imagined. On par and even surpassing several other designer fragrances of this style. The first half hour projects quite a bit and then it drops until it stays 10/15 cm from the skin. For what it proposes, it’s acceptable. Hope my review has been useful to you. Best regards.

Is there any cheap clone of this “Azzaro” here in Argentina??? I read in an English review that it’s similar to a Gillette… does anyone know if that’s true???

Azzaro Chrome Aqua is a citrus, aquatic and aromatic fragrance. Its opening is very citrusy and invigorating, and shortly afterwards it shows some interesting herbal phases; up to here it promises to be a good fragrance, but as time passes it loses strength, turning into a skin scent and, although it’s not unpleasant, it becomes somewhat generic, with similarities to other fragrances. Chrome Aqua is a fragrance for daytime use, in spring and summer, casual outings or with friends. Its longevity can reach about 8 hours, but very close to the skin. I don’t dislike it, but it doesn’t excite me either, I think there are more interesting fragrances with better performance.

GREENER THAN AQUATIC: An interesting fragrance that smells like a fresh herbal cocktail, like a mojito up close or a plate of fresh vegetables (prickly pear with mint). The highlight is the balanced mint and basil; the marine notes are almost covered by the herbal aspect over a woody base that barely shows through as it dries. It gives comfort and freshness in warm climates, though it also works well in cool offices (20 degrees). Longevity is just okay; you need reapplication as it softens quickly (lasts almost 6 hours with medium-low intensity), but for the price, the fixative is decent. Update: in areas like the inner arm, with two full sprays I managed up to 12 hours, though with less intensity; it seems applying more sprays is the secret to giving it strength. I don’t like the bottle, very simple, and the cap had uneven edges, nothing like the Wanted flacons. If you’re looking for something fresh and herbal, it’s a very good option: it doesn’t stand out too much but doesn’t go unnoticed either. At the base, it smells very similar to Aqua di Gio. Recommended sprays: 7 to 10. Fixative rating: 7.5. Sillage: Light. Intensity: Light.

Smells good but not over the top. Ideal for summer: calm, unpretentious, and only noticeable if you’re right up against someone. It’s not long-lasting, maxing out at around five hours. It has that relaxed seafiner vibe with a hint of grass. I’d give the scent 7.5/10; nothing wrong with it, but if it lasted longer and projected better, it would be a 9/10.

It’s 99% identical to the ADG Essenza, a magnificent alternative that lasts a ridiculous amount of time for something so fresh, a minimum of seven hours on the skin. I absolutely love it!

Chrome Aqua is more of a flanker than a spin-off of Chrome, typical of Azzaro when a hit leaves nothing on the table. I tried it a couple of weeks ago in the height of summer (32 degrees) thanks to some vials gifted at the JC Penney launch. The opening is quite good; in fact, from over three metres away, it could fool you if you let yourself be swept away by the initial magic of the mint and grapefruit. Unfortunately, that magic fades and the fruity notes lose strength terrifyingly quickly, leaving a dry, dull trail with mediocre projection. It might be ideal for cooler climates, but in the heat, it honestly has little to offer, a shame because the opening is pleasant. The bottle and its physical presence are a 10.
