Caught me off guard; I wasn’t expecting that repetitive rose and oud blend often touted on YouTube, but previous reviews hit the nail on the mark. It’s a ‘unbalanced’ combo where the rose takes centre stage; the synthetic oud smells neither animalic nor leathery, it’s there purely to add depth without dominating. An exquisite, mature unisex rose—imagine a nearly black pomegranate, sweet yet tart with a fresh touch. The cumin is barely noticeable, nothing dirty or sweaty, just clean and elegant. The papyrus lends a slight masculine air. Reminds me of Equivoque, not because of the notes (one floral, the other woody) but for that elegant, dark, sweet sensation, although unfortunately less ‘rebellious’ than I anticipated. Projection and longevity are more reasonable than expected.
One of the richest rose and oud perfumes out there. The rose has a delicious sweetness and the oud is deep, yet completely devoid of any animalic notes.
A very fine and elegant oriental fragrance, featuring that classic velvety blend of rose and oud. It’s not original, but it adds a red wine-like depth that makes it unique. Ideal for elegant occasions in the cold, totally unisex. Its only flaw, aside from the exorbitant price, is that the projection is discreet, so there are more advisable options. A great perfume in the end.
A strong, bold and sexy fragrance, a dark and elegant Grasse rose infusion for both sexes. The oud is well-balanced with enormous longevity. It’s a triumph to smell it, thanks to the quality of the notes and the depth the cumin adds, becoming mysterious with the papyrus. The price is worth every drop for the exquisiteness, although in my opinion it’s very hard to come by due to the cost or the need to prepare one’s nose for its intensity and exclusivity. The cap with magnetic plates denotes luxury; I like the detail combined with the bottle, though I’d prefer a simpler version to lower the cost and make it more affordable. The collection is varied and interesting, it feels it was curated with care.
