Invictus Platinum by Rabanne

What a fragrance, super citrusy and green with a sweet touch that goes down a treat. Lasts 7-8 hours with good projection and trail for the first two hours. One of the best Invictus flankers; I’m going to try to find a backup as I think they’re going to discontinue it.

This Invictus Platinum along with the Parfum are the two best in the line, by far. The Elixir starts well but then doesn’t convince me, Victory Black smells of vulgar cinnamon, Aqua is a horror and Absolu isn’t worth it. I don’t understand why they discontinued this Platinum; it’s some of the best from Rabanne: excellent opening and dry-down, very versatile. To me it smells aromatic and herbal, like little herbs with a soft sweetness, very pleasant and not annoying. Very good for winter and autumn, or cool spring nights. Lasts a lot and projects well, it’s not a beast but if you atomise it well it lasts notably. People like ultra-repetitive aromas, but compared to the mega-sweet ones coming out everywhere, this is good. They’re mad they’re still selling Victory Black and not this.

Totally informal fragrance, suitable for the day but I see it as fresh for going out at night, dancing or clubbing in a white shirt. Decent trail and low longevity, a maximum of about 4 hours. It’s one of the few times the Arabic version (Armaf Odyssey Aqua) beats the original. Smells of soft fruity mango with a sticky green base that gives freshness thanks to the mint. I recommend it for blind buys or as a gift only for someone young, under 35. Rating: 8.4/10.

Everything is perfect in this creation, although it only lasts an hour. Why doesn’t it last longer?

This perfume offers something different, it’s not disruptive or anything of the world. In fact, its opening is sweet and citrusy like a yellow grapefruit with sugar and mint, somewhat soapy with a touch of grape at the bottom (perhaps it’s the lavender). The citrus goes very quickly and the cypress takes strength, very identifiable although richer than in nature, mentholated and soapy. This cypress gives it something I don’t usually smell in trend perfumes. I like it a lot, it’s for daily use, for the office without being very formal. I give it a 7.5.

Tested on skin and dries quickly; very rich. A green scent that reminds me of H24 by Hermes and CH Paradise.

Let me down; neither fresh nor elegant. The first two minutes are fine, but after five minutes it becomes heavy and gives me a headache. I wanted a different Invictus after using the regular Hawas, but I wouldn’t recommend it. I regret spending 80,000 pesos blindly based on reviews.

Fresh, slightly green, mentholated, marine with a hint of salt. It also has a sweet, sexy touch that could earn you compliments. This Invictus Platinum is the ultimate versatile scent: day-to-day, dates, friends, gym—it never fails. 100% recommended.

I like the scent; it’s like canned mango. It doesn’t drive me wild, but women love it; I’ve received many compliments. In my social circle, these tropical scents really stand out. The opening recalls Paris Hilton for Men slightly, while dried it has that classic Invictus air. Performance ranges from normal to heavy: 5–7 sprays last 6 hours on skin and all day on clothes; 9–11 sprays last 7–8 hours on skin and until the next day on clothes.

Fresh and sweet aroma, super fruity. It’s very noticeable, almost like a mangonada, which is what they call it in Mexico. It works all year round and is my signature scent. Lasts 7 or 8 hours with good projection.

Total surprise I won’t forget. I bought it blindly due to the ridiculous price and recommendations. The opening is sublime: sweet, fruity, and mentholated, very refreshing. It’s not innovative, but it’s well-made and doesn’t bother anyone. It doesn’t evolve much; it stays on that toned-down sweetness with a woody touch that doesn’t overpower the greenery of the Platinum, so don’t expect the cedar and patchouli to shine. Performance: with 6-8 sprays it lasts about 8 hours. Moderate projection for the first 4 hours, then just a personal bubble until it fades. You’ll receive compliments, but it won’t revolutionise noses. I recommend it as a signature because you don’t offend anyone and you feel good. Not for parties with lots of people because cheaper perfumes will overpower it. 7.5/10.

Rich fragrance. I met it on the bus: a guy sat next to me and I got hit by the trail. At first I thought ‘ok, it smells nice’, but over time it became richer until I thought ‘wow, I really like it’. I was encouraged to ask what perfume it was and that’s how I bought it. Note: it has a resemblance to YSL.

I’ve had it for 3 months and only used it 5 or 6 days. It’s not that I don’t like it, but I don’t see the ‘fresh’ description. To me it’s artificial and projects too much with just 2 sprays. To repeat, it’s not bad, it’s a matter of taste, but it hasn’t convinced me.

I didn’t like it when I first tried it, but I’m gradually understanding it. It’s sweet, fresh, and slightly fruity, like a cocktail. It’s not heavy, but the sweetness is sharp and loud, so I see it more for going out at night. Additionally, it has an alcoholic note that I don’t see as suitable for studying or going to the office.

I didn’t like it at all. At first it was fresh and powerful, seeming to be on the right track. But as it dried down, an overpowering smell invaded me, like anise or medicinal, very strong and invasive. It seemed I might like it before, but I don’t. It has great projection and duration, but it’s one of the Invictus I liked the least because of that peculiar dry-down.
