Within Jo Malone’s new collection with Zara, this one is by far the most thought-provoking. As someone who knows and owns quite a few perfumes from this premium Zara line, I find this one harder to define. It opens with a rich, realistic violet, and after a minute I can’t say much more than a slightly toasted/woody/clean scent. I know it’s not the best description, but that’s how I experience it. The coffee, at least, I don’t detect at all. To finish, I’d say it’s a rich, distinctive, minimalist and elegant scent (the usual trend with Jo Malone x Zara), with good longevity and reduced projection—a personal scent bubble.
A real gem at this price. The scent that remains on the skin after application is intoxicating. A clean violet with musky undertones that last for ages. I don’t detect the coffee that much, and I think it’s a perfect fragrance for cold days, formal occasions and dates. It doesn’t project too much, but I don’t think it’s meant to. 8.5 out of 10.
The initial opening is violet but short-lived; then the mocha/coffee comes through and dominates the whole fragrance from beginning to end. At the end it blends with the musk and gives a soapy touch that isn’t bad, but quite honestly, I don’t fancy going around smelling of coffee. Longevity is pretty good.

It is true that, being a connoisseur and owner of quite a few fragrances from this premium Zara line, this perfume is harder to define.
